Chapter 22

Luke's POV:

God, that was close.

Seeing as Holly asked how Stormy new me, I guess she had heard of the band. I don't want to stop Holly from contacting her cousin, but...

I can't tell her about the band yet.

How would that conversation go?

Hey, Holly, you know how you're my girlfriend and I've told you I think I'm in love with you, and I hope you trust me. By the way, I've been lying to you - I'm actually in this world famous band, and if anyone sees us together in public, there'll be crazy rumours, which of course I won't deny, and neither of us will be able to get any privacy. I made the others keep it secret from you, too, because didn't want it to be public knowledge that I have a girlfriend.

I didn't want to find out what her reaction would be - not yet, at least.

I can't lose her.

For once, I want someone to like me, and not Luke Hemmings, the lead singer from 5 Second of Summer.

I know she'll find out one day if we ever have any kind of long-term relationship, but sometimes I wonder if it would be easier if she did know about the band. She could come to concerts, and be there afterwards, like the other girls are...

But it's too much to ask of her.

I can't ask Holly to give up her entire private life just so that I can have a girlfriend. If I can have a girlfriend, she deserves a private life, and this is the only way she can have one.
