Pain

Oh pain, dear beautiful pain, how cruel can you be,

I never thought it would be so hard,

You hit me so badly, and those wounds are killing me,

I am desperate to get back up.

You envelop me and it feels like a nightmare,

It's torture at it's best. I can see no place to run. I am here facing you,

I suppress you, I feel a void,

I face, you instantly take me down,

And I get back up, each and every time, I will.

Dear pain, you are so crude and pitiless,

Have I such huge debts to repay?

You come in avalanche, and there's nowhere to hide,

You are here, burning my flesh, twisting my mind,

Amplifying all those fears and doubts,

Making me lose myself in a spiral of darkness,

And I feel so weak, I can't seem to stand alright, my legs shake,

As you try to spread doubt in my mind,

My heart is here. I have the soul of a warrior. Come what may, I am going to tear everything apart. You won't touch anything precious to me. My beating heart is more powerful than anything, and by God's grace, I shall win this battle.
