"Huh?" said Lena confusedly, her eyes never leaving the woman in front of her.

"Last time I saw you, you were only a baby." said the woman slowing closing in towards Lena. "But you look nothing like your parents."

"Who are you?" Lena didn't remember anything about her parents and didn't believe anything  Lillian told her mostly because all that would come of her mother was criticism. So when the lady mentioned her parents became extremely curious about the woman standing in front of her.

"Oh of course, they didn't tell you anything." said the woman glancing towards her adoptive parents. "I'm Cat Grant, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

"Hog-what?" said Lena

"They really didn't tell you anything now, did they?" The woman shook her head sighing and said "You are a witch, Lena. Indeed, one of the bests and I am here to take you to Hogwarts, a school that teaches magic."

It all appeared very surreal to Lena. She stood there gaping at the woman that introduced herself as Cat, not being able to understand anything. There had been numerous times when Lena doubted that the Luthors were hiding something from her about her birth family and she never missed a chance to investigate into the issue. By now she was sure that the story they kept repeating to her was false but magic? No, that's unrealistic. I must be dreaming she thought.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the strange lady.

"I don't have all the time in the world, Lena. Here, take a look at this."

Cat handed her an envelope. Her mind soared back to the feline she saw earlier. Clearly the cat was delivering mail or Lena was having one of her strangest dreams.

Lena stretched out her hand after a few long moments of registering the scene before her. She meekly took the yellowish envelope. It had certain dents caused due to small teeth on one of it's edge. The cat certainly was delivering mail, Lena thought. The letter was addressed in emerald green to Ms L. Luthor. Her hands trembled as she pulled out the letter slowly and it read:

HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF
WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY

Questions lapped over Lena's mind like waves and she couldn't decide which to ask first. After a while she stammered and asked, "What does this mean?"

"I don't blame you, young lady. Would you mind sitting down with me for a coffee while I explain you about your life and your sweet mother would make us some coffee?" said the lady already seated on the couch and looking expectantly at Lillian.

Lillian huffed at her and strided towards the kitchen mumbling something under her breath. Lex followed her inside.

Cat patted the spot next to her gesturing Lena to sit. The girl obliged and sat down nervously. The lady smiled at her and began,

"Your biological mother and I were close friends in school and as well as at our work. She was a brilliant witch. Witty and kind. Wizards and witches don't usually associate with Muggles or you might say non-magic people but your mother was always intrigued by your kind so she'd almost always go out of her way to make friends in the Muggle world and she fell in love with one of them who left her with the excuse of his work. And that man is none other than your useless adoptive father." The lady looked at where the bald headed man was seated. He held his head in his arms rested over his legs. Lena's jaw dropped at the new information and she struggled for words. After a few minutes of opening and closing her mouth she said,

"B-but I am adopted. My parents are dead."

"No, my child. Your mother was killed. Your father is right in front of you."

Lena stared at the woman with horror. Just then Lillian walked into the room with a tray on which rested two cups half filled with coffee. Lex just behind her.

Lena stood up and asked the Luthors pointed her hand at the woman,
"Tell me this isn't true. Tell me you haven't been lieing to me for my entire life."

After getting no response in return Lena shuddered at the realization. The lady had now stood up and was running her hands over Lena's back in a comforting way. Lena fell down on to the couch and stared at Lionel who seemed particularly interested on the carpet of the floor. Lena asked him in a while,

"So you are my father?"

Lionel briefly looked up and nodded a little and went back to gape at the floor.

Lena's emerald-like eyes brimmed up with tears looking more greener than ever. A small tear made its way down Lena's cheek followed by a stream of other.

Cat turned to Lena and held her head up by her chin and said, "I've got something for you."

She revealed a small brown bag and handed it to Lena. The girl slowly took and it and opened it. It was a chocolate cupcake with strawberry frosting around it. What struck Lena most was the fact that it had her name written beautifully across it with white cream. Lena looked up to met the eyes of the stranger who said

"Happy Birthday, Lena."

Lena genuinely smiled at her and murmured a thank you. She took out the cupcake and devoured into it savouring all of it's taste. It was indeed delicious, nothing like the ones she had had before.

Cat seemed relieved by the happy expression on Lena's face. After finishing the and reviewing everything that had happened in the last hour she asked Cat,

"What happened to my mother?"

Cat appeared to be suddenly anxious at the question and said "Oh I am not sure I am the right person to tell you this but of course you can't go to Hogwarts without knowing the legend you are a part of."

She threw a dirty look at the Luthors and sighed.

"I'll tell you as much as I know."

{Ps. I dont plan on continuing this. It's toooo lengthy and I cant afford that rn maybeee laterrr}
