"Taehyung! Smile for the camera!"

He smiles as his overexcited mother takes maybe the hundredth picture of him so far. Meanwhile his father is smiling proudly at him with tears in his eyes, and his siblings are teasing him for almost crying too.

His family had gone to Seoul for his graduation ceremony.

"Mom! You're embarrassing me. I'm not a little boy! And my cheeks seriously hurt from all this fake smiling."

His mom chuckles and pinches his cheeks, making them hurt even more. "No matter how old you get, you will always be my little boy", she smiles, slapping his cheek lightly as she pulls away. "I know mom, I know."

"My little boy too!" His dad loudly remarks as he throws his arms around his son, who had completely outgrown him years ago.

"Dad are you crying? Please don't cry, you'll make me cry too." The rest of his family just happily watch their dramatic antics.

After he had received his diploma and taken even more pictures, he went out to eat with his family. His best friend and former classmate Park Jimin, joined their small private celebration.

"So, Jimin-ssi, what are you doing after graduation?" Mrs. Kim asks.

"Me? I've already been offered a job in RM Enterprises. I know the CEO. That's why I offered Taehyung to come work with us, but he just refused."

"Why?! I didn't raise my kid to be that stupid!"

"Mom, I want to find a job by myself, not just get it handed to me. Jimin and the CEO are friends, but I don't know him, so I don't want to feel like I'm using him in some way."

His dad interjects, "but you shouldn't be naive and pass up an opportunity like this Taehyung. It is difficult to find a job, take it from your old man. You've already worked hard on your own. There's nothing wrong with getting some help from other's sometimes. You don't need to prove anything."

"Let me just try it on my own first, I'll definitely do it. I'll definitely get a job on my own accord."

It turns out finding a job wasn't as easy as Taehyung had thought. He had already spent five years stressed out, pulling all nighters and arguing with teachers, just to have to worry about finding himself an employment now.

Taehyung didn't expect it to be easy, but at the moment it felt down right impossible. To get a job you need either a recommendation, or experience in the field, or both.

For a recommendation you'd need valuable contacts, and where the hell would a boy from Daegu get those in Seoul? And how would he gain any experience if no one gave him a job? Ugh, this is seriously making him mad.

He had already gone to three interviews, yes that's right, three interviews, and he had been rejected at each and every one of them for the same reason. Not enough experience. But they liked that he was young though. Where would he even have gotten experience at the age of 23? He just graduated for God's sake!

Of course, one interviewer also just had to point out, the way Taehyung wasn't completely able to hide his dialect, due to his nervousness. Taehyung is honestly glad he didn't get that job.

Getting desperate, since he had already wasted two weeks on searching for a job and reliving humiliation over and over again, Taehyung stared at his phone on the coffee table. He was running out of savings to pay his rent with, and that just confirmed he wasn't getting any closer to his goal of becoming rich either.

Biting his lower lip, feeling anxious, he starts to unconsciously bounce his left leg quickly as he picks up the phone. It was silly really, why was he bothered by calling his own best friend?

It felt like he had lost some kind of bet. He was supposed to find a job of his own, but here he was, ready to tell Jimin he was right and beg for a second chance at working in RM Enterprises. He felt like he had failed.

Sighing deeply, he decides to just get it over with. Jimin answers after only two rings.

"Hey, Jiminie, so I just wanted to-"

"When are you ready to start work?"

"Huh?! You knew all this time that I was gonna call, didn't you."

"Oh please, me and Namjoon even made a bet about how long it would take you. He owes me like 40 000 ₩."

"I hate you."

"I love you too dumbass. Anyways... I know you, I know you'll somehow blame yourself for not getting a job, or feel like you've failed at proving something. But it's not your fault so stop being so stubborn and come work with me", Jimin mutters, his tone serious now.

"Fine!" He emphasises the word, to show he's on board. "But on one condition!"

"What is it?"

"Give me an internship first. I'll prove my talents, and show that I'm worthy of this job. I need to feel like I've earned it."

"So let me ask you again, when are you ready to start work?"
