"So you're telling me, I was dying, so Jungkook bit me?"
"Yes. Well at first I fed you my blood... But that wasn't working. You weren't healing. So I had to bite you, turn you."
"I drank your blood?!"
'I wonder how Jungkook's blood tasted. How could I have forgotten, when it smells so good?! I want to taste it again... Wait! What am I saying?! Snap out of it Kim Taehyung!'
"If a human dies with vampire blood in their system, they'll be revived, as a vampire. You're technically dead already, well the human you."
A quiet moment passes by, letting everything sink in for an utterly deflated Taehyung. His eyes widen, 'I'm dead?'
He lets out an uncomical laugh, "I'm dead. Wow. Okay. Great. Just great! I'm only 23 years old and I already managed to get myself killed. I don't know whether to cry or laugh. So what am I supposed to do now? I already failed at a human life, how am I supposed to live as a vampire?"
His shock gets the best of him as he continues overthinking himself into a frenzy, thinking about all the possible negative outcomes of this situation. Multiple questions pop into his head, and he doesn't hesitate to voice his curiosity out loud.
"What if I randomly attack someone on the street? What if they attack me?! Do we really die from wooden stakes in our hearts?"
"Are we really scared of onions? I like onions!"
"Can I never go out in the sunlight again? I'm gonna become so pale, like a ghost! Wait, if vampires are real, are ghosts real too?!"
"How am I supposed to live in the dark all the time, can I bring videogames?"
"What about my family, I need to take care of them-"
"Hey hey hey, don't worry Taehyung. It'll be fine. We'll be with you every step of the way", Namjoon reassures him.
"And to be honest Taehyung, you're very lucky! It's your first day as a vampire and you've already found your mate. What are the odds? That's totally unheard of! And so romantic! I'd be lying if I said I'm not a tad bit jealous-" Jin rambles on excitedly, clapping his hands together with a big smile on his face. For Taehyung, he looks like an overjoyed seal.
Namjoon nods, "that's true. It was very surprising, but at least now your adaptation to the vampire life will be ten times easier. I hope you and Jungkook will be happy together."
Taehyung stills, "what are you guys talking about? You still haven't told me what a, what did you call it, mate is.. I'm so confused."
Jungkook shifts nervously beside him, trying to avoid eye contact, his confidence suddenly gone.
Namjoon however, looks too fascinated about this for Taehyung's liking. "Oh right! I guess you humans use a longer word for it, maybe you'll understand better if I say Jungkook is your soulmate?"
Taehyung stands up abruptly, Jungkook's arms no longer around him. He gawps at the other vampires in the room, and points at the one still sitting on the floor, looking up at him silently.
"You're saying he's, J-J-Jungkook is my... like in a romantic way?? He's my soulmate?!" Taehyung starts pacing around the room, gabbling mostly to himself, pulling his hair now and then.
"No no no no no," he shakes his head vigorously, "we just met like, yesterday, this is so weird, it's nonsense! I'm dreaming, this has got to be a dream, right?!"
When nobody answers his questions, mainly because of extreme astonishment, he decides to indulge his own imagination further.
"Yeah, that's right! I fell asleep in the office due to overworking, I never found Namjoon hyung's phone, I never went outside to Seokjin hyung's bakery, and I was never stalked by some stupid, murderous truck! This is just some joke my brain is playing on me. I'm just dreaming about all the people I recently met. I'm sure I'm fine! I'm just sleeping! If I make myself wake up now, everything will go back to normal. I'll go to work like any other human and forget about this crazy dream."
