Jungkook brings his hand up to his chin to wipe off the blood dripping down from his lips, in a poor attempt at concealing the evidence of what just happened, how much he'd really drink when he needed to take the edge off.

Taehyung is following his every movement with a wary look in his eyes, observing the vampire in front of him as Jungkook cleans the back off his palm on his shirt, staining the white material a blurry red. Then he slowly walks towards him. Taehyung's breath hitches, and he unconsciously tries to move away, pushing his body back further on the big sofa.

"I'm not going to hurt you, Taehyung. Please don't run away from me as if I'm some kind of... monster." Jungkook's voice cracks when he says that last word.

He sounds so defeated, so broken, that Taehyung refrain's himself from leaving the room in a nervous hurry, which was his initial plan. Instead, he's timidly motionless and tense on the couch as Jungkook sits beside him.

The latter heaves a deep sigh, his chest moving up and down very slowly, as if the heart inside it is currently too heavy.

"But I already hurt you, didn't I?" He whispers lowly, gesturing towards Taehyung's aching wrist with tears in his eyes.

"And you were just scared of me, weren't you? I- I felt it, your fear." Jungkook continues, his voice hushed, and the warm tears spill out of his orbs.

But he doesn't even bother hiding himself from Taehyung's gaze, although he's crying. Because even though he's used to acting strong, that is the opposite of what he's feeling at the moment.

"This isn't what I wanted, you getting hurt, being scared of me, that's the last thing I wanted..." Jungkook whimpers, but as soon as he sees Taehyung looking at him apprehensively, he breaks down all over again.

'Why is he looking so worried about me, when I hurt him, scared him, and behaved like an evil monster? I really am a monster, and I don't deserve someone as kind and pure as him. I don't deserve having Taehyung as my mate.'

When those thoughts creep into his vulnerable mind, he starts sobbing noisely and uncontrollably, gasping for air as if it's painful to breath. That might be because Jungkook is afraid that those thought's turn out to be an untold truth.

Maybe Taehyung comes to the conclusion that he wants nothing to do with a monster like him anymore. That would make his life too much to bear, and too agonizing to live.

Taehyung moves his trembling hands to Jungkook's face, and wipes away his tears gently, even as new ones are being shed. "Stop crying, Kook. It hurts to see you like this." He says softly. Jungkook merely shakes his head and cries even more.

"Come on Kookie, how am I supposed to comfort you if you don't tell me what's wrong, huh? How can I understand what you're going through, unless you open up and share your feelings with me? Not even I, as your mate, knows what's going on in your head right now. But I want to find out, I want to figure you out. So don't hold back, okay? Don't keep your troubles to yourself, and struggle on your own, when I'm here with you."

Jungkook sniffles and opens his eyes to look at Taehyung, who's already intently watching him. Taehyung was unexpedetly being so affectionate, so gentle with him.

'Why is he being nice like this after we fought and I got so mad? Is this what having a mate is about, being selfless when they need you? Always being there for them, no matter if you're angry or not?'

"Kookie... Stop crying, please." Taehyung tells him fondly, making Jungkook weak by using his new and endearing pet name.

Lost in a newfound epiphany, Jungkook has stopped crying in the midst of the warm touch of Taehyung's hands, and his encouraging words. When Taehyung notices this, he persists his questions, determined on motivating Jungkook to speak about his problems.
