"So... You live here?"
Taehyung is in awe, gawping as he looks up at the huge house, no, mansion, in front of him.
For years now, Taehyung has lived in an old, run down, janky apartment, since it is the only thing he's been able to afford while immersed in his university studies. Thanks to the blessing that came in form of a scholarship, he didn't have to worry about cruel and overwhelming student debt, but his poor background meant he's not all that used to luxury either.
Meanwhile, Jungkook, a lucky vampire that is two years younger than him, lives in this castle like wonder in front of them. If Taehyung would have to say the first two words that came to mind when he saw Jungkook's house, they would be "beautiful" and "bricks." The predominant part of the mansion's structure were indeed bricks, which Taehyung found interesting, compared to the tedious concrete apartments you'd see spread over the entire city. Or Taehyung's childhood home, a simple yellow cottage in the countryside of Daegu, barely big enough to fit him and his family, with old paint peeling off the walls, in desperate need of a renovation. It was accompanied by a barn with the same colour, that they'd use for farming to make a living.
No, this, was entirely different. Brown and beige bricks were stacked together to create a castle like building, the roof painted a discreet red and brown, giving it a more modern and elegant look. Chimneys and short towers were climbing up to the blue sky, reminding Taehyung of the fairytales his mother would read him as bedtime stories, about princesses being locked up in a tall tower, held captive by scary fire breathing dragons, waiting for their prince to come to the rescue.
Taehyung found the garden especially fascinating and appealing, even the lawn being imprinted with square bricks, and in the centre of it all, a big fountain, surrounded by dark pink flower bushes. The splashing droplets produced a relaxing sound, together with birds tweeting from the nearby forest, and the warm sun shining, it all comes together to become the ultimate calming atmosphere. Taehyung had the urge to sit down by the fountain and run his hands in the cold water, or read a book laying on the stone bench, right underneath a tree blossoming white, pretty jasmines.
As Taehyung continus to stare open-mouthedly, Jungkook has to wave his hand in front of his face, making him blink in bewilderment.
"Hello, earth to Taehyung? Yes, I live here, do you not like it?" Jungkook asks unsurely.
"Like it? I love it! I- this is amazing, Jungkook."
Jungkook smiles at him, "you haven't even been inside yet, come on, I'll show you." He grips Taehyung by the wrist and leads the way through a big wooden door, with a noticeably unique design on the metal door handles. Roots grew gracefully into strong trees, complementing the leaves that were engraved beside it, giving off a sense of nature.
