To my dearest Kaneki,

I love you.

I love you through the pain.
I love you through the struggle.
I love you through the abandonment.

I love you.

Even though I know.

So bitterly, I know.

You can never love me.

You will never love me.

But you need to know that it's okay...

It's okay you don't love me.

Because my only wish is that you are happy.

No matter how much I hurt.
I want you to be happy.

Because I love you.

Kaneki stared at the letter he had been handed.
He was shaking.
He knew that handwriting too well—
He could feel the emotions in it.
This letter was written in agony.

...

I am now assured that you are always going to be happy.
The day of your marriage, you held a smile like no other.
As much as I would have loved to have been the one...
I am very glad to know that you will never be alone.

In spite of my claims, I will fairly admit that I am bitter.

Can I be blamed?
Is that entirely my fault?
I am indeed angry.

At myself.

I never had the courage to tell you.
Even today, as I write this.
I was unable to speak to you.
I cannot bring myself to say these things to you, because I am certain of my rejection. A creature such as myself is not worthy anyways. I was idiotic from the very beginning, and though I wish I could say that I have been fully forgiven... only you can be sure of that.

I never will be, it seems.
I have pledged my loyalty.
I have served my purpose.
I now bid you my farewell.

Goodbye, my love.

Godspeed.

S. Tsukiyama

Kaneki huffed a sharp, startled, pained sigh.
He was crying.

He told me to wait. He thought.
He told me to wait. His mind repeated.

"What the fuck!?" He shouted.
That fucking asshole! Is this some sick fucking joke!?

Sprinting full speed, whizzing past his wife, he called after the only other person that would know anything about this.

"Nishio-senpai!" He yelled, knocking loudly on the door to his room.
Nishiki opened his door, "What...?" He asked, "Calm down. Where's the fire?"
"Tsukiyama." Kaneki panted.
"Okay, so, I could see literally anyone saying that he's hot, besides you." Serpent held a straight face. "What about him?"
"Where is he?" Asked the one-eye intensely.
"Ah... last time I saw him, he was looking for you."
"When was that?" His voice was extremely strained.
"Er... couple days ago at least. Why?"
"Fuck." Ken hissed, "...fuck. Fuck, what the fuck!"
"What's going on exactly?"
"I think... no... he's gone."
"What do you mean gone?"
"Gone as in gone, he's not coming back."
Nishio paused. "Well... what the fuck makes you say that?" He asked after a moment.
"...the fact that you haven't seen him in three days and that he told me to wait until Friday..." the Rinkaku Ghoul ran his fingers through his hair angrily.
"Eh?"
