"I spoke to God today and she said that she's ashamed...

What have I become.

What have I done..." I must have been in that tree for hours and when I finally looked up it was pitch black, only the moon and starts illuminating the trees. There was some rustling down below me and then a bobcat jumped onto the branch I was sitting on. "Go away little guy... This branch can't hold the both of us..." It looked at me curiously and I tried to shoo him away. "Look, I know your adorable and could rip my throat out, but I just want to be alone..." I blinked at it turned from a bobcat into Gabriel.

"Sorry bucko, you're not getting rid of me that easily." I just looked away from him. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"I can't do this anymore Gabe... I'm only causing people more trouble..." He cupped my cheek and made me look at him.

"No you aren't. Damen, you are much stronger than you think and much stronger than I ever thought possible. What ever is happening to you, we'll get through it together. Even if that means running away to get some me time." He pecked me on the lips and gave me a small smile. "You don't have to go back right now if you don't want to. I'll tell your flannel wearing brothers that your fine."

"I wear flannel too ya know..." He raised an eyebrow, his smile growing.

"Not as much as those two lumberjacks." A small smile grew on my face. "I made you smile! That's a good thing" He pulled me into a hug. "Do you want a treehouse?"

"What?"

"Well, this branch is anything but comfortable and you're going to be out here for a bit..." I pulled away and shrugged.

"Sure, but don't make it too extravagant." He snapped his fingers and we were sitting on the floor of an all wood treehouse. It wasn't too big but it wasn't too small either, just big enough for the both of us. There was a small box in the corner of the house overflowing with candy and a small blanket in the middle of the floor. I turn to him, a seriously look on my face. "Is really all of that candy necessary?"

"Yes it is." He stood up and pulled the curtains open on the window, letting the moonlight fill the room. He sat down behind me and made me lie down so my head was in his lap. My wings automatically wrapped themselves around me and I just sighed.

"Is there a way for me to be human again?" He stiffened. "Gabriel..." He sighed.

"No. Only demons can turn back into humans." I frown and look up at him.

"You're lying." It was quiet for a moment.

"Your grace, all of it, has to be removed and doing so would put you in close contact with death... And I mean really close, the angel removing your grace would have to work quickly to make sure you don't die. It's the most extreme banishment from heaven..." He finally looked at me. "I don't want you to go through that."

"Why does it feel like this is the last time we can do this?" He frowned.

"Do what?"

"Be here with you, be some what happy. I just feel like it's all going to end soon." He sighed and gave me a small smile.

"You're just being paranoid." I frown and nod.

"I guess so..." We stayed like that until I eventually fell asleep to him singing Paint it Black under his breath.

I woke up to people whispering and I looked around. It was still dark out, so I changed into a black panther, quietly sneaking out of the treehouse onto nearby branches. I make my way towards the whispering and I see Sam, Dean and Gabriel standing next to a particularly large oak. "So, why isn't he coming back?"

"He needs some time Dean. You Winchesters never let anyone get a break do you? I feel so bad for the people who have to work with you..." He shakes his head and chuckles darkly. "He's a kid, he shouldn't be put in a position where he's afraid of himself."

"He's got to learn to live with it then."

"He's not like you two! He can't watch someone die right in front of him and just be fine a few days later!" He sighs and looks up at me. "You can come down here you know." I reluctantly jump down from the branch and onto the ground. I sit down next to him, my tail moving slightly behind me.

"I-Is that-"

"Damen? Of course. Panthers and wolves don't live around here ya know."

I'm not stopping you from continuing your conversation. I just thought I should be apart of it.

"No, this-" I stand up slowly and face Dean head on.

My future depends on whether I stay with you or not. I have people, no, angels to protect and both Gabriel and Castiel are my first priority, but Castiel is always with you. If I leave he comes with me. If you want me to stay, you need to learn that not everyone thinks and acts like a Winchester. Because of your status as a riotous man, I have to protect you as well and when I leave, you'll lose your only bargaining chip to save the world.

I backed off and began making my way back to the treehouse. "What are you talking about, saving the world?!" I spun around, quickly changing back to a human.

"That's what I've been feeling lately okay! The end is fucking nigh! I'm going to have to save your poor asses from it."

"How is that?"

"I can remove the Mark, but you'll have to deal with what comes after it." Gabriel's eyes widened.

"No, you're not going-"

"I never said I'd do it." With that, I walked back.
