Mars didn't give up. She knew that she had to help her friend. Mars called Tabitha (since Courtney would never answer) to check up on Courtney. He seemed somewhat worried.
"She hasn't been to work for days now. I know there's something wrong, but not even our boss can get in contact with her. Have you tried calling her?"
"Yes, it said the number was unavailable."
".... That means one of two things. She changed her number or..." Tabitha paused. "Or she can't pay for it anymore."
Mars pondered that idea. It seemed possible. She did live alone and she wasn't getting paid since she wasn't working. But that was odd. Why wouldn't she work? She was always a hard worker.
Mars needed to figure this out and fast.
