Bismillah-Hir-Rahman-Nir-Raheem

All Praise be to Allah (S.W.T) the Lord of the Worlds and blessings be on Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S), His Family and Companions, Aameen.

1) Feeding the Horse:
Suppose you use a horse for transportation as people have done in the past. One of your friends invites you to his house and you get there by riding your horse. How would you feel if your friend totally ignores you and starts feeding and caring only for the horse? You will feel confused as yourself, the rider, was suppose to be the guest, not the horse that you rode on.

The above situation sounds abnormal but that is exactly what we are doing today. Allah has given us a body and a soul. The soul rides on the body to pass through this world. In other words, the body is like the horse and the soul is like the rider of the horse.

Today, we are continuously busy in feeding and looking after the body but totally ignore the well being of our souls. As a result, our souls have become so weak without the spiritual food that it is not strong enough to even push us to go to the Masjid or wake up for Fajr prayer.

Thus, it is essential that we strengthen our soul with spiritual food as shown by Islam, such as keeping the company of the pious, recitation of the Qur'an, Dhikr of Allah and contemplating over the Greatness of Allah.

(It is because of our weak souls we get trapped by Shaytan so easily, we feel lost and we wander around uselessly inspite of knowing that this world is temporary. We waste our time and procrastinate every act of worship. It is all because of our weak soul that we despair from the mercy of Allah. Never think that everything will get fine between you and Allah unless you won't make a move, you have to push your soul once...people need to get addicted to good habits and leave sinning. It is very important to feed our soul to feel content with our heart and soul, and for our peace of mind.)

2) Buying a New Car:
When a person buys a new car, he always tries to keep it clean and safe from any type of damages. He will also drive very safely to avoid accidents, as he doesn't want even a slight dent on his new car. Even if his own beloved child makes a small scratch on the car, he becomes angry and tells the child not to repeat the act. What makes this person to care for his car so much? It's because he has spent a lot of money and energy for acquiring the car.

Today, not only one scratch, people are putting thousands of scratches on Islam from all sides. But how many Muslims care? It's because they have not spent their health and wealth for the sake of Islam. As a result, they have no value for it. The companions of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S) realised the value of Islam because they acquired Islam by sacrificing much of their energy and wealth.

(If only we valued the sacrifices of our Prophet (S.A.W.S) and the companions (R.A)s' we wouldn't be so relaxed in practising our religion. We are trapped in this world as if we have got nothing to do with hereafter inspite of being a Muslim. Our Aqidah is standing on the 6 beliefs of Imaan. When we go on Pilgrimage, we go for Ziyarah to places like Uhud and others. What is it for? Ask yourself! Is it for any fun? Or to see with how much efforts our religion reached us? We don't realise the martyrdom of the companions because of whom today our religion reached us with so much difficulties! If only we did...we would try to be a good Muslim not only in Ramadan but throughout the 11 months as well.)

3) Going to the President's House:
What would you do if you were invited to the President's House for a friendly visit? If I was invited, I would feel very special, as the President of the country has selected me to come over! I would let my relatives and friends know about this great news. I would wear the best clothes, the best perfumes and try to look my best. I would postpone all my other activities for later and cancel any plans that might have had for that day. If I met any friends on the way, I would tell them where I was going. Over all I would be very excited to visit the President's house.
