Do you make Dua with conviction?

Me and kids were watching the news related to the Australian bushfires this morning.

We were deeply upset about the loss of humans and wildlife. I mean 500 million wildlife, 8000 koalas SubhanAllah. I said "may Allah replace their loss with something better" and sent them all off to make dua.

After dohr Salah my son comes and asks

- Mum, I made dua for the rain in Australia. I wonder if it started to rain

- I don't know son. Go and check on Google

After magreb Salah, same question:

- Mum, I made dua for the rain again. Did it start raining yet?

- Go and check online

After Isha Salah, he comes beaming with joy and happiness, with my mobile in his hand

- Mum, I made dua again and look what's happened. Rain!

Me:
-SubhanAllah, how quickly Allah responded to your dua MashaAllah

My other daughter:

-It can't possibly be his dua only. So many people prayed for the rain

But my son who is only 8 felt so certain that it was his DUA. Looking at him, I felt jealous. Jealous for the fact that when he asks Allah he asks with so much conviction. When he asks Allah, he's full of certainty that it will happen. And so it does. Didn't Allah say in a hadith qudsi "I am as my servant thinks I am"

Ask Allah and ask Him some more. Ask with conviction and certainty and start seeking the signs of relief immediately.

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu. How are you all my beautiful people. May Allāh keep you all and your families safe, healthy, happy, blessed in His Aafiyah always.

I have faced similar types of situations where at many places the Dua was answered in a group. SubhanAllāh. How many of us really have faith that it was our Duas that was heard?

Also, even if you ask Dua alone, how many of you are certain that Allāh hears, and even if He doesn't gives you what you want, He will give you something that's better as that will be His protection.

So many of us just make Dua for the sake of it, or when we need it the most. But what about thanking him and remembering Him in good times? Many of us forget Him due to temptations of Shaytan.

Allāh says in the Noble Qur'an in Surah Baqarah, chapter 2, verse 152:

فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ

152. So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
