Of course it did! All of it mattered. Every second spent with them, it  was worth it, and deep down I knew it. I felt it every time I watched Auradon News and seen a preview of Jay and Carlos's faces on the sports team. The sensation of arms around my torso cause me to jump, that's when I realized Mal had embraced me in a hug. I was crying. Hot and salty tears streamed down my face as I returned the hug. "I'm sorry, Mal," I managed to choke out. "No, (y/n), Darling. I am sorry. We left you here, and never came back. I am so sorry," her grip tightened around you as you both were crying. Once we were both calm, Mal looked me in the eyes. Her eyes were puffy and red, and I could only imagine my condition. "(Y/n), I'm going to take you to Auradon. Tonight. I won't be staying, but I will be your escort," the girl with purple hair standing before me was nothing like the purple haired girl I used to know. She cared, and also belonged in Auradon with that snazzy prince printed all around the Isle. It was only a slim chance, but maybe I could convince her. "No, Mal, I won't go if you don't stay with me in Auradon. Help me reunite the proper way with the rest of the gang. Please, Mal," I begged as she was leading me out of the bunker. In the time I was standing there thinking, Mal had been tossing a few of my belongings into a duffle-bag. The girl stopped abruptly and I studied her for a second, back turned towards me. Mal didn't say anything for nearly a minute and a half, "fine, but I'm not promising you I'll stay very long." With that, I kept my hopes up for her to stay. A hour and thirty minutes had passed, and we were currently arriving at Auradon. I hadn't bothered to leave a note for Harry and Uma, and I could care less what their reactions will be. As we pulled onto the grassy hill across the water, a new feeling hit me. It felt like happiness, joy. As if the island itself amplified these things, I couldn't help but smile. "Oh, and (y/n)," Mal turned her head slightly to look at me, "Carlos has been very... depressed lately. Ever since you stopped responding to his letters, he hasn't been himself. That's been nearly two years, so let's take your reunion slow, okay?" I nod and start to feel giddy with excitement and nervousness. Mal pulled her smartphone from her pocket and tapped away on the screen, I tilted my head in curiousity wondering what the small light in a box was. "Okay, everyone's still awake and are going to meet us in the court yard," Mal parked the moped we had rode on and took my wrist in her hand, leading me to the said court yard. I took in the magnificent and gorgeous sights, even if it was dark, and stared in awe at the islands beauty. The castle and architecture blew me away when it came into view, and we were soon on the outside of a large hedge circling the court yard. Mal stopped and turned to me, "stay here until I call for you." Without another word, she turned the corner. After about five or ten minutes of waiting, I could hear voices and footsteps. I hoped we weren't about to get into any trouble and began to make myself blend with the darkness and even darker shadows of the hedge. I soon heard Mal's voice call, "you can come out now!" With caution, I peaked around the large bush to see four figures, one being Mal's. "Who is that," a male's voice. I slowly found my way into the light and stood there awkwardly, looking at the ground. My hair had fallen in my face, and I heard a quiet gasp. "Oh my god... oh my god," I heard a female exclaim and barely recognized it as Evie. "Uh, hi," I lifted my head so my hair fell to the side and waved a little. Then I was football tackled into a hug, laying on the ground. I could hear sobs, but there was an aura of pure happiness around them. After I caught the breath that was knocked from my lungs, I looked down to see white hair and a head buried in the curve of my neck and shoulder, "(y-y/n)... I can't believe... oh (y/n)... I've missed you so much." It was Carlos. He shuddered with nearly every crying breath, and as much as he tried to pull himself together he couldn't. I could feel hot tears burning my eyes as I returned his embrace. My arms were tight around the back of his neck, his arms around my torso. The other three, although happy of my return, allowed us our moment. Carlos finally pulled himself together enough to sit up, not letting me go. Evie and Jay had made their ways over to us and were on the edge of tears, even if Jay wouldn't admit it. They knelt down and hugged the two of us as well. All I could hear was sobs being held back and a lot of "I'm sorry", but all I could feel was happiness and joy. A week had passed since then, and I was still trying to adjust to my life in Auradon. Carlos was by my side at all times, swearing to never leave me or let me go again. The things they did here were weird, and I couldn't help but be tempted to take a few of the shiny gems in the bottom of a fountain. Jay had to explain to me that it wasn't something you could do here, and so did my Ethics class teacher when she found out about it. At the moment, Carlos was leading me to a, quote, "surprise place I know you'll love". Carlos, as far as I remembered, had a strange taste in places he liked to be. However, what he presented to me was breathtaking. Unlike the castle and art there, this was natural beauty. The boy leaned against the railing of a dock as he looked at you curiously, "so, what do yuh think? You like it?" He brought me to a secluded area in the nearby woods where a gorgeous lake ran, and the reflection of the trees and sun seemed to make the crystal clear water sparkle. My mouth was slightly gaped, and I soon realized it and clenched my mouth shut before speaking, "it's beautiful." A light blush of pink teased its way on to Carlos's cheeks as he scratched the back of his neck. I walked up to stand beside him and lean against the railing, and he glanced from the lake to me, "yeah, beautiful. Even more so than I remember." I looked up at him to find the boy staring at me, and now it was my turn to blush. Carlos noticed he was staring and quickly turned his head away with a red face, mumbling, "I'm sorry." I look back out across the lake and smile to myself, "it's fine." Carlos had a goofy grin on his face when he looked back at me and chuckled a bit. When I glanced up at him my thoughts came without warning, 'he's so cute.' I blushed at my own thought when I noticed Carlos wasn't smiling anymore, instead he seemed a bit sad, "why did you stop?" I was confused, "what?" He looked me in the eyes and said again, "why did you stop writing?" His chocolate brown eyes seemed glazed, and yet they seemed to glisten and shine. "I was selfish. Angry... I'm sorry," I whispered, "I... I-" I was immediately cut off before another sound could slip from my mouth. His arms were around my waist, tight and gentle. His body was warm, pressed against mine in the embrace. His lips were soft and sweet against mine as he kissed me. I responded after a moment of surprise jolted through me, closing my eyes and melting away. He pressed me against the tall dock railing a little, hands resting in the curve of my waist. The boy slowly pulled away, and it left us both breathless and hungry for more than just catching up. Carlos breathed heavily as he spoke in a low voice, "I've wanted to do that for so long. I've wanted to hold you for so long. Kiss you. I was just too scared to act." I only smiled at him as if saying, 'it was worth the wait.' Our foreheads we're pressed together, and we were soon connected and intertwined again. However, this time things may have gotten a bit more heated.
