In loving memory of Precious Jewel, our beloved, sweet, little dachshund. She died today... at five years old... hit on the road by a car. It was awful... I'd been in the shower, and I heard someone scream, "Jewel got hit!" I dried off and got dressed the fastest I ever had and rushed out there... so see her lying in our ditch... blood on her face... and an eye bulging out... at least she died instantly...

My mom feels terrible because she let her outside... it's only three days from my sister's tenth birthday... and this is the same month my dad passed away... we got her very shortly after my dad died, actually.

She may have been annoying and tripped you a lot, but she was the sweetest dog I'd ever met... and my baby sister could just pound on her, and she's only take it and lie down. She was so laid back...

She was my cat's best friend... and Rachel loved her so much. We all did... especially the one who's turning ten, and my other sister, too. She was so much fun to take with us when going on a walk... she was friendly to everyone she met... we even have this neighbor dog who hated other animals but loved her...
