I don't mind being alone.
I could go hours without speaking
Without human interaction.
I could
dance in the rain
Walk through art galleries
Spend time at a carnival
Read a book, curled up
Alone.
But
I hate to be lonely.
To feel like you don't matter to anyone.
To stand in a crowd of people, and just be.
Losing a connection with someone
Or just being in a place you hate
Loneliness can creep up anywhere....
Even surrounded by friends and family.
And it's painful. It stings your heart to suddenly think that
I'm not important.
I have no one
It hurts like hell.
But
For some reason
When I hear piano playing softly
Or the cello being expertly played
Or any music that is soothing
I no longer feel lonely.
Because music heals the hearts of the wounded and clears despair away.
