Chapter 10: Sports Festival Pt 2

After 2 weeks, the day all U.A.  students were excited about, began.

(Imma skip the explaination of the games and get into the action.)
You all lined up for the qualifier race, your heart pounding inside your chest. Suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder. You looked back to see Todoroki. He smiled softly before whispering a reassuring,
"You'll do amazing."
You couldn't help but smile at his kindness. He managed to calm you down, good thing too because the race was about to start.

The counter finished and everyone bolted. You weaved and dodged most people and soon found yourself almost reaching the people up front. Suddenly the people in front of you came to a hault. Instinctively you jumped over them using an ice platform. You ended up seeing that they'd been stuck to the ground with ice. Only a few people managed to notice the ice before it reached them, including you.

You leaped past the ice. As you did you created a thick ice wall behind you to block the students. You kept running until you got to the first barrier. The robots worth zero points from the entrance test.

You had an idea of how to get past them. You sprinted right towards one of them. As you got close you brought your hand close to the ground and spread ice along it. The robot began to slip along on the ice whereas you glided across it gracefully. Under the robots legs and past the obstacle.

You heard present mic quickly talking about the positions of each student. Todoroki coming first, Bakugou coming second and you coming third. You could see neither Todoroki nor Bakugou so you decided to speed things up.

Using your quirk you made the entire area around you, an ice rink. With this you were able to skate with ease to the second obstacle.

You got to the second barrier to see Todoroki and Bakugou neck and neck as they got to the halfway point of the obstacle. The second obstacle was alot harder as you had exhausted yourself creating the ice rink. You grabbed onto one rope and began to shuffle across it. Your legs dangling below you.

Because of your slow way of getting across the obstacle, other people had caught up and began making their way across too. Becoming even more determined you began to swing yourself forward along the rope in attempt to go faster.

You were nearly at the end of the course when one of the competitors who caught up stepped on your hands. The immense pain you felt caused you to let go of the rope. You  quickly snapped out of the pain as you fell.

In a desperate attempt to stay in the race, you forced yourself to create an ice platform midair. You used your control over your quirk to float the ice back up to the surface. Grabbing the edge of the ground, you hauled yourself onto the surface.

You were completely out of energy as you stood up again. Slowly, you began to jog to the next obstacle.

As you jogged, you began to regain energy, enough so you could use your quirk again. Luckily you gained enough speed to get near the front of the race again.

Finally you came into contact with the third obstacle, the minefield. You slowed to a hault to figure out how to pass. That was when it hit you. You took a step forward and created an ice platform. You began to speed over the minefield. (Kind of like how Frozone moves)

You heard a loud bang as you caught up to Todoroki and Bakugou. All three of you came to a quick stop to see a majestic Midoriya fly over our heads. You all then began to go twice as fast to make sure Midoriya didn't catch up. But he did, by the skin of his teeth. He managed to gain a lead as the end of the race was in sight.

All 4 of you threw yourselves towards the finish line in a desperate attempt to win. As you passed the finish line Present Mic began to speak, "WOOOOOOAAAAAA! What a thrilling race! Now to announce the winner of the first round, Midoriya! With Todoroki coming in a close second, Bakugou in third and (Y/n) in fourth."

All four of you were exhausted. Izuku went off somewhere, the same with Bakugou. Todoroki lent against the wall, catching his breath and you sprawled yourself on the ground over-exaggerating to yourself about how you were gonna die.

"(Y/n). Get up."
Todoroki's cold words sent shivers down your spine. He was angry, not at you but himself for not winning the race. You slowly pushed yourself up to stand and walked out of the arena with Todoroki.

(Todoroki POV)

"Are you alright?" I asked, trying not to sound angry. (Y/n) nodded her head and looked at me smiling. I was taken back a little from her beaming grin. All of a sudden she glomped me into a hug. I, of course, hugged back.
"I know you're upset because you didn't win but it was only the first round, we still have a long day ahead of us." She spoke softly into my chest. I blushed at her kind words and hugged her that little bit tighter.

"Why are you so selfless?" I thought to myself. We let go of each other, much to my disappointment. (Y/n) giggled softly before grabbing my hand and walking with me to the arena to see everyone else finish. At that point I was a tomato.

((Y/n) POV)

You looked to Todoroki, he was as red as a tomato. You couldn't help but think about how cute he was when he was embarrased.
"What am I thinking! Of course he's cute, wait no, well yes but no except yes. What is wrong with me! He's my best friend! I can't like him but maybe I do, maybe, maybe.....dammit, I like him." You were internally screaming at yourself because of how oblivious you had been to your feelings.
