"Mum...outside.. hope your hungry?" Opening the door to his parents holding BBQ tongs
"Oh okay is she okay?"
"Few tears.. but she fine.."
"Same here.. are you okay?"
"I'm fine Mum.. dad alright?" Shaking his dads hand firmly
"Son.. beers" holding out a crate
"You know where to put them!" Disappearing dads voice was loud and he was hugging Lucy
"Is she okay,"
"Mum shes fine.. honest! Drink?"
"Coffee please."
"We have wine?"
"Coffee.." she went outside to see Lucy who had her arms open wide
Knock Knock with a few more people turning up.

"Darling.. good to see you"
"And you Mum.... dad"
"Lucy.."
"Drinks?" Disappearing away she heard footsteps
"Don't start Dad"
"I'm not... how are you?"
"Fine.. "
"Really? By that tone"
"Sorry no I am fine.. dreading today."
"Don't....celebrate Dans birthday!"
"That why we are doing this today"
"Sure... sure"
"Here you go.." passing a beer in his direction
"Thank you... ummm I'm pleased your happy with Bobby!"
"I am... he's amazing"
"He's a good bloke.."
"I know... I'm lucky."
Bobby bursted through the door laughing
"Ill get her..Babe... Sorry.." he grinned
"It's fine.."
"Alright?" Asking her
"All fine.." her father went back outside
"You okay?"
"Yeah fine... shall we go back outside?"
Arm draped over her shoulder everyone were chatting and laughing.. the smoke from the BBQ filled the air.
"Everyone can I just raise a toast!" Bobby yelled above everyone else, every voice slowly went quiet..
"Thanks.. okay we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has come today.. it would be Dans birthday today and can we please raise our glasses to him and celebrate for him because we know that he wouldn't want us not too... every single one of us knew and loved my brother... Sophia couldn't be here today and we really do understand.. so everyone please raise your glasses to my brother who we miss deeply... dan......"
With everyone saying dan cheers Lucy nudged Bobby's side
"I'll go.." she slopped off with many eyes following
"Okay now come get some food" booby said distracting everyone as he watched Alex and Sophia disappear inside
"Darling Sophia?" His mother asked
"I know.. I'm going to go see"
He reached the door to see them both hugging each other.
"Ladies?" Sophia pulled away from Lucy
"Sophia just wanted to pop by and umm tell us that she... she's got engaged."
Lucy was tearful
"Engaged?" Bobbys tone was shocked
"Yeah... that's great news.. congrats again.." Lucy swiftly jumped in hinting to him to do same
"Yeah congrats.. to who?"
"Oh a man I grew up with.. he's really been great since dan.."
"Right.."
"Sorry I didn't mean to upset you.. I wanted to tell you rather than you fine out via someone else.."
"Thank you for telling us.. well good luck and everything.."
"Yes thank you.. I'll never forget dan you do know that."
"Course.. would you like to join in and get some food" Lucy swiftly replied
"I'll just come say hi to your parents Bobby"
"Sure they are outside." He pointed with raised eyebrows Lucy.
"Bobby.. umm dan left me a note in the will didn't he?" Sophia asked quietly
"Yeah I know.."
"He asked me to give you this.. he also said for me to tell you do the right thing & go to this place and speak to Alan" holding out a business card, a white envelope
"I don't understand."
"You will when you open the letter.. don't waste time Bobby... take care." And she left
