Well it's not really our true independence day since after we got free from Spanish rule the American one started... And then the Japanese rule happened.
Man, 333 years under Spain. 48 years under America. And 3 years under Japan.
Initially our independence day was on July 4th but it was moved back to June 12th the date in 1898 on which Emilio Aguinaldo issued the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain.
