Chapter One

This is my second story and it was inspired by ‘The Black Shuck’ which I researched for a school project, I was so interested and intrigued by the legend I decided to base a story on it. This is also a student/ teacher/werewolf story, on most chapters I have included a picture, the first one is of Emily Browning who plays the main character Amy.

Cast- Ian Harding as Jared Bates, Emily Browning as Amy and Jacqueline Jossa as Ellie.

p.s. I've also made a website that has information about the legend of 'The Black Shuck' so if you'd like a little background info feel free to take a look. http://blackshucklegend.blogspot.co.uk/

Also for all you American readers here's a few words translated from British English to American:

A torch= a flashlight e.g. "Hey dude, stop shining that torch/flashlight in my eyes!"

A supply teacher= a substitute teacher "Phwar, have you seen the new supply/substitute teacher? I wouldn't kick him out of bed if you know what I mean."

Pavement= sidewalk "Old people shouldn't drive, half the time they're on the pavement/sidewalk."

Chav= definition from the urban dictionary

'Picture this a young lad about 12 years of age and 4 ½ feet high baseball cap at ninety degrees in a imitation addidas tracksuit, with trouser legs tucked into his socks (of course, is definitely the height of fashion). This lad is strutting around, fag in one hand jewellery all over the over, outside McDonalds acting as if he is 8 foot tall and built like a rugby player, when some poor unsuspecting adult (about 17/18) walks round the corner wanting to go to mcdonalds for his dinner glances at the young lad, the young lad jumps up in complete disgust and says “Whats your problem? Wanna make sommin of it? Bling Bling” when the adult starts to walk towards the young lad, the young lad pisses himself and runs off to either his pregnant 14-year-old girlfriend or his brother in the army crying his eyes out.'

Canteen- Lunch/dinner hall e.g. "I'm going to the canteen/lunch hall, I'm so hungry I could eat a horse!"

Registration or form time (hint the word 'register')- I believe you call it home room? When you arrive at school the first place you go is to registration where you are 'registered' e.g. Teacher sits with a list of names and calls them out, the students reply by saying 'yes sir' so the school know you've turned up.

Sixth form/ 'I am a sixth former'- sixth form is year 12 and 13 at high school where students study for their A levels. You have the choice to be there- in England we leave school at age 16 (end of year 11) and after that you can do whatever you want (get a job, go to college or sixth form etc) The students are aged 16-19 and a majority go onto university once completing their A levels.

The legend of ‘The Black Shuck’ shuck is of a ghostly black dog said to roam the countryside and coastline of Norfolk. Recent news coverage reports deaths caused by animal attacks in the area so when Amy is confronted with the mythical creature her life gets confusing and the last thing she needs is a new, young, and fresh out of university teacher becoming overly protective of her.
