It was time, today would be the day where I, an infamous baker would reveal my hard-working creation to the far-away King of Dreamland. It was fantastic! I knew this day would come. I'd be presenting an enormous cake to a narcissistic and numb king, but in general, it was a royal, and to see whoever would make the best dessert would be the winner and crowned best dessert maker in the land! that would be me, I bet! and I know it in my heart, too. the competition will begin tomorrow, and I know I'm ready for that bet.

Over every piece of location in dreamland, each dessert maker would be joining and additioning the competition. I've been practicing for years on my own, and I can't wait to win! Hm, perhaps being alone for so long in my own bakery has made me a bit of the King's personality, but that's just more relation he can relate to! that's a bonus, isn't it? I made progress in hours of labor work for this one large cake big enough as a king-sized bed. this humungous treat would top notch any other, and I'd be absolutely proud if the townspeople would love it too

It was early in the morning, certainly, and my clock was blearing. I stayed up all day and night, and my expectation of this cake's appearance would take a century if I wanted it to look precisely like a dream's

it was ridiculous, a had about a week to take care of this child of mine, and I didn't even make one pattern yet. there were to be 3 layers, and I had only finished one: the biggest disk-sized base. it would have to present it any way I can, and so I did just that

I was racing towards the castle, the help of a fellow who introduced himself as "Kirby" had to transport this large cake inside

almost there...

and I could hear the king's voice echo, too, in the afternoon

"Well, well, well! if it ain't my most experimental bakers imaginable! I admire ya'lls patience in my kingdom. now then, to my, and everyone's expectations..." the king whispered from inside

"with all ya'lls original creations...!"

I almost made it, but-

"poyyy"

"please, Kirby! not now, this cake isn't for you, it's for-" i shrilled out a gasp, Kirby had stopped assisting me with pushing the cart and had already gone under the covers hiding the cake to munch the treat in pure desire

"Kirby!" I tried snatching him out, but his connection with my dessert was like a parasite to a host. he wouldn't let go, and in seconds i could feel the ground likely shake, as i heard an inhaling sound from under the covers

soon, the form of the cake disappeared, and I looked under in shock. it was gone, my hard work dead! I was furious, grabbing the gluttonous puffball's stub and demanding help immediately

Kirby stopped my fury and took me somewhere in the castle, I, still confused and simultaneously angry

"poyo!" soon we were somewhere atop a floor in the castle, where Kirby showed me a room, knocking on it a few times before waiting

moments aroze and I felt like I was trespassing in this confined area only the king and his guards could pass

"one minute!" yelled a voice inside. this wasn't going to be good, was it? it was a male's voice, sounding like someone over 25, and a vague lisp, too. would he report me to the king for going into an area I weren't supposed to be in? I did have a uniform showcasing you were a baker, but I doubted that was enough evidence to forget the fact that I went a secret passageway only Kirby knew of. that would be all too suspicious

the doorknob clicked, and I wanted to run but felt a familiar pink nub refrain my leg from taking even a step

"poy" he looked serious and looked towards the door

click...click

swing...

"Oh, hi Kirby! and," he jumped, seeing my frame beside his, I still and making a small smile to accompany the situation

in a flash, the orange stubby carrot-like creature with an apron took the small ball inside with a slam

I heard closely, the cat-mouthed man's whisper very audible

"kirby! why is there a stranger here in the castle! you're not supposed to bring anyone here!"

"poyo!"

"what? wait, you mean they're..."

"poy!"

I listened more, feeling Kirby defending your case as the other being seemed more understanding

" I see.." he trailed before the door opened minutes later

"who are you? I'm chef Kawasaki, sorry about that" he smiled, as he rubbed his chef hat

"oh, it's ___, and you're okay! I mean... I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your friend eating my creation like an afternoon snack"

"what? Kirby did that?" he frowned, and I saw at the corner of my eyes Kirby looking sorrowful, and soon agreed to assist my new cake

" I won't be able to make an entire cake in less than an hour, so it'll have to be smaller than the others, ___. sorry, but don't worry!" now it was noticeable he had a lisp, and I felt him give a small pat with his orange arm on my back to make my feelings calm

he, although being a chef, introduced me to baking ingredients in cabins of all flavors and types

he had left me to do my work, and Kirby would help me make the layers, too, gladly. I even discovered that it only took an hour, too!

it was fun, and I completely forgot the stress of the competition, until later on, we were led by Chef Kawasaki in the throne room where everyone was having fun, tasting the cake and chatting intuitively

great I were unnoticed, as I pushed the cart the cake was on. Chef Kawasaki had to notify the King in private, him, at first shocked but understood. as everyone was unnoticing of my arrival, to my approvement, the thick penguin royal stood in front of my piece, Kirby under the cart in wonder

"so, you had trouble gettin' here, huh? well, no matter," he chuckled, whipping out a golden spoon and going in for the cake for a bite

with his toothy smile, he dipped the spoon in his mouth, tasting by himself before a burst of delight was on his face

"Chef! Chef uh-"

"____, your majesty" the orange blob whispered

"___! that's right, this is amazing," he was smacking his duck lips within each favorable bite, gulping "you really got a unique talent in ya, and honestly, I prefer yours!"

later on, night fell and Kawasaki and I, along with Kirby, were outside as every professional baker and invited guest was getting ready to leave

"thank you, Kawasaki, I really couldn't of have-"

"no no! really don't mention it, ____! I wouldn't mind. ask help whenever ya need it from 'ol Kawasaki! Surely the King would let ya in sometimes, heh!"

I was dumbfounded by his happy yet genuine atmosphere, before giving out a smile. I wished to thank him, but instead, we both found what I was trying to say as we both looked up at the sky, Kirby jumping up happily as a shooting star slid across the night scene
