"Hey," Vincent greeted, making his way over to Ethan, who was propped up against his car in the school parking lot.

Ethan didn't reply, only beckoned the other boy over with his head, unlocking the car and climbing into the driver's seat.

Confused and slightly irritated at the odd behavior, Vincent got into the passenger seat without so much as glancing at the boy next to him. Ethan didn't mind his reaction; on the contrary, he thought it was just perfect.

After a suffocatingly-awkward ride, they pulled up in front of the Grays' not-so-humble home. Vincent's family had a lot of money, almost everyone in the neighborhood did, but nothing could've prepared Vincent for the literal mansion they pulled up in front of.

Ethan bit his lip, poorly concealing an amused smile at the sight of the boy next to him, who stood with wide eyes and a gaping mouth. In the most heterosexual way possible, he looked fucking adorable.

Straight guys could say that about other guys, right?

The teasing comment left his lips before he could help it, "Like what you see?"

Vincent's head snapped towards Ethan, a mad blush coloring his face as he tried desperately to compose himself. Ethan chuckled.

"Yeah," he breathed. "I guess it's alright."

Alright didn't even begin to cover it, and Vincent found that the truth behind that only doubled as the pair stepped into the house. It was all very Victorian-style themed, with vintage-looking furniture and ornaments scattered here and there in an organized mess that made Vincent feel like he'd just walked into the 1800s.

"Anyone home?" Ethan yelled, shutting the door behind them. "Take your shoes off," he told Vincent, proceeding to do so and placing them on the mat beside the door.

When Vincent took a look at the expensive-looking, beautiful white carpet right in the middle of the living room, he understood why he'd been asked to dispose of them.

"In the kitchen, baby," a muffled voice sounded from inside. Vincent couldn't help but stare fondly as a huge smile took up Ethan's features. It was the first time he'd seen Ethan genuinely smile, not a smirk nor a grin, but a full blown smile.

"Hi, Mom," Ethan greeted. Vincent watched as he walked over to a petite woman, giving her a kiss on the cheek. She had her back turned to Vincent, unaware of his presence.

"Hello, Mrs. Gray," he greeted politely, making her whip around quickly, almost knocking Ethan over in the process. And when she did, Vincent was taken aback by the striking resemblance between the two.

Apart from her slightly thinner and lighter eyebrows, the woman shared almost about every other feature with her son. From the midnight black hair to the chiseled face and the full lips, the only thing that really set them apart was the eyes. Where Ethan had pale green ones, Mrs. Gray flaunted a pair of bright browns.

She was beautiful, and Vincent found himself unable to look away from her as she smiled kindly up at him.

"Oh, well hello there," she said, not-so-subtly studying the boy in front of her. "Ethan, how rude of you! You didn't introduce me to your friend," she scolded, frowning at her son who merely rolled his eyes.

"Mom, Vincent. Vincent, Mom," he lazily gestured between the two. His mother was not exactly satisfied with the behavior, but she dismissed it, turning to an uncomfortable Vincent.

"Nice to meet you, Vincent. You can just call me Stephanie," she said, extending an arm out for him to shake.

"We're gonna be upstairs working on this dumb project for school. Call us down when dinner's ready," Ethan announced, already turning to leave the room.
