Nick insisted that Sara joined him, and his siblings for lunch, but he instantly regretted it.

Tim said, "Now you two don't need to go sneaking off at lunch!"

"What are you talking about?" Nick asked, surprised.

"Come on, Nick. You ran errands at lunch the same day as Sara and come back more shall I say... relaxed. Michael told you what was wrong with you months ago."

Nick felt mortified as Sara sat looking down red in the face, he reached over and rubbed her back.

Clare spoke up "Sara, you might as well know that Tim is not always funny. I'm glad for you and Nicky and he is too!"

Tim said, "No funny business in the office."

"Tim stop! You're embarrassing Sara." Nick could tell she was uncomfortable.

"I agree. Tim, Nick and Sara are adults, and their private life is private. We've always made a point to keep our personal lives separate. It will be harder for Nick and Sara. You need to treat Sara like any other employee. That means respectfully. Sara is a professional." Clare passionately told Tim off.

Nick decided that it was better when no one knew - almost because Sara was coming over after work. Nick went to pick the kids up while Sara stopped at the market for food. Bridget accosted her when she came through the door.

"Sara! Is Daddy going out?"

Nick replied, "No, Sara is here to have dinner with us. She's our friend."

"Yay Sara!" She called and ran around excited.

Jack copied her and ran around. "Yay, Yay!"

Nick laughed and pulled Sara into one of their signature embraces. It sounded like there were ten children, but he didn't care. He also didn't hear Julie rap at the door and let herself in. It wasn't until Bridget changed her chant.

"Auntie, Auntie! Sara, Sara!"

Nick turned and saw Julie smiling at them and attempting to tame the wild animals.

Julie smiled. "I think they're excited. I know I'm intruding, but I'm too excited to stay away."

"It's okay. We were about to start on dinner," Nick said.

"I knew something was up with you two. How long have you been trying to fool me, John Nicholas Burke?"

Sara looked at Nick, and he nodded for her to answer. "Since that night I babysat."

Julie looked at him. "That was February. We were skiing. Does Christine know, because she wants you to be a couple?"

Sara said, "We know. She got me drunk and had Nick drive me home hoping to get things started. She knows now and is happy, which is saying something."
