Chapter 10

So the next day after Bianca fails to show up at the hospital, my dad drags me to work with him, though I prefer going to papa Vic's work, its more fun there. I mean its a cafe, there is food and people to hang out with.

We get in his car and dad is singing along to some song, I just laugh at him as he sings very badly i might add.
His phone rings and he pulls over to answer it,

"Ryan Alvarez" he says

"Detective Fernandez! I finally got a hold of you...I need you" dad says

"Oh no! For another week? Fernandez, can you at least get someone to start on it? You know I only trust you for my family business and issues" dad says

"Alright, we'll touch base later" dad says hanging up and pulling back into the road.

"Dad,was that Fernandez?" I ask

"Yeah" dad says

My parents had known him for a long time. Detective Fernandez handled everything when they needed business partners checked out, people investigated or background checks.
Fernandez had a huge private investigative agency, very efficient and recommended.

"Is this about the weird things about Bianca?" I ask
That woman was up to something!

"Yeah, but please don't tell my husband, you know how he gets, he's very excited about the new baby and he won't hear anything else"

"I won't tell, we need to fix this" I tell him

"We will" Dad says

We finally reach the Alvarez building. Very impressive, huge, dominating and made of glass. Dad parks and leads the way to his floor. Everyone pays attention when he is passing. He has such a presence! He waves at them and continues to his office.

"Jeez dad, everyone seems scared of you" I say when we get into his big office

He laughs and looks at me...

"Its just work face" he says

I laugh and say,

"I know, if they knew how whipped you are over dad, they'll loose all respect for you" I say

He bursts out laughing and gestures for me to sit. He hands me a file and tells me to go through it and summarize it for him.
We continue chatting as I read through his report.
There's a knock on the door and his secretary comes in. Okay...he is very handsome, in his thirties I think.

"Excuse me sir, we have a meeting " he says.

"Right, this is my son Reign" he introduces us

"Ofcourse, he can't be missed, those blue eyes are so vivid!" He says excitedly

I laugh and put out my hand for a handshake.

"I'm Albert" he says

" Nice to meet you Bert" I say cheekily

He laughs and goes to dad's desk to pick some files as they head out.

"Reign, I'll see you for lunch" dad says

I turn back to the computer and select a movie to watch as I go through the file dad gave me.

My phone rings and my face lights up as I notice that its Josh. I pick up the call

"Josh! Hey" I say

"Hey, i miss you,what's up today" he asks

"I'm actually at dad's office for the day" I tell him

"Wooow okay, I'm really bored and dad is acting weird" he says

"Weird? How?" I ask leaning back in the chair

"I don't know but since last week when we met him at the hospital, he seems nervous" Josh says

"Maybe try talking to him about it" I say

"Yeah, I'll do that" he says

"I need to finish this, I'll text you later" I tell him

"Okay, bye...miss you Reign" he says

"I miss you too" I tell him and hung up

I remember back to when I met doctor Evans, he seemed very nervous and weird, I don't know why!

I'm startled out of my thoughts when dad comes back from his meeting.

"Let's go eat" Dad says

"Yeah sure" I tell him

We go to a small cosy restaurant and after our food is served, I can't stop thinking. Dad notices my distracted face and nudges me,

"Oh! Sorry dad" I say

"What are you thinking?" He asks

"Do you remember when I told you that Josh's dad is a doctor?" I tell him

"Yeah, at city hospital" he affirms

"Well, we met him at the hospital but he seemed very uncomfortable when he saw me, he was acting nervous, then Josh told me that he's still being weird" I tell dad

"Hmmm...doctor Evans you say.. I don't know, maybe it has nothing to do with you" dad says

"I'm not too sure " I tell him

"You'll figure it out, you always do" dad says

We finish lunch and go back to the office for a few hours. Then dad receives a call from Papa and he stands up very agitated.

"Calm down honey, tell me slowly, what is happening?" Dad asks

"Reign is with me, I'm coming right now" dad says and grabs his wallets and gestures to me to hurry.

"Dad, what's happening?" I ask

"I didn't get it so well, let's hurry and meet Vic" dad says jumping into the car and I quickly follow in after him

We reach in record time at dad's cafe. He is pacing outside waiting for us. When he sees dad, he hurries and hugs him. Dad tightens his arms around him and he presses a kiss to his forehead.

Papa pulls back and holds out his hand out to me. I go to him and and squeeze his hand,

"What is it dad?" I ask

"Can we go in?" He asks

We follow him in and seat at a table. We all look at him expectantly.

"Well, someone has been pushing threatening notes under my door for about a week now, I didn't think anything of it but today I found one in kellan's bag, I'm so terrified, I'm going out of my mind" he says

"What the hell my love! You could have told me sooner, calm down, I'll handle this" dad says picking up his phone and calling his head of security.

I get up from my seat and go hug papa. I hug him tight.

"Where are the twinnies? I ask

"As soon as I saw the paper, I had them taken home and told the nanny to not let them out of her sight. There's a bodyguard with them, I stayed to call your dad so we can find out what to do"

I nod and hug him tighter.
