Chapter 12

"What do you mean that's not Bianca?" Papa asks shaken as Dad tells security to follow her and try to stop her.
We all turn to look at grandma.
She is clearly shaken and pale!
Dad hurries to get her water. She drinks a few sips and tries to calm down.

"He's back! He's back Victor!" Grandma says

Papa shakes her and looks her in the eyes,

"Who's back mum? What are you talking about?" He asks

All of us are puzzled, confused and shaken.
Dad cleverly gets the guests to leave and tells us to go inside so we can talk more comfortably.
After we all seated, we all look to grandma. She visibly swallows and rubs her hands nervously, she looks at us and Papa nods for her to talk

"That woman...she...she's not Bianca, she must have seen me that's why she went running. She's Danika Galventes" grandma says

"Danika Galventes?mother, you said we were the only Galventes left!" Papa asks astonished

"No, I lied" she admits

"Why mum? That means I'm related to her?" Papa asks

"Yes, but Victor, your father's family, the whole lot of them are evil and greedy, Danika was here to hurt you and your family! I'm sure about that!" Grandma says

"Oh my God! My baby" Papa wails and Dad takes him into his arms rubbing his back and trying to soothe him

"Please calm down, my love " Dad says

"How Ryan? I knew I shouldn't have agreed to a surrogate, I should have had my own kid, my sons were enough but I still wanted a daughter" Papa says inconsolable

A resounding slap echoes in the air. We all look at Papa, grandma gave him the slap of his life.

"You will not blame yourself for this, how were you to know" grandma  says as Papa rubs his cheek.

The twins giggle when papa gets slapped,  they laugh and run back to their play room.

"Yes Vic, you know the doctor said you can't have more kids, there is no way we would ever risk your life, your the life of this family" Dad says giving him a hug.

Papa smiles and nods.

Then grandma continues,

"When I met your father, Victor senior, I wasn't from a rich family or anything. But he didn't care, he loved me anyway. Against his family's wishes, he married me. Then we had you. Your father loved you so much. His family, the Galventes are stinking rich, they own gold mines and have a vast business empire. They all wanted the money.
Your father was the heir to everything, so he changed his will and left everything to you with me as administrator" grandma says

"Then what happened mum?" Papa asks

"When his evil family found out, they were livid and kept threatening your father to change his will especially his brother, Danika's father.
Then a month later, your father died in a mysterious accident! I know they killed him!" Grandma sobs

Papa hugs her tears in his eyes. We all hug grandma lending her our strength

"I couldn't prove they killed him but I got him(Galiano) sent to jail for fraud and other crimes. Then I took you and ran. He promised to punish me for sending him to jail" grandma finishes

"So Danika or Bianca is his daughter?" Dad asks grandma

"Yes, he must be out of jail and he's very cunning! He will try anything! That bastard killed your father!" Grandma says

"Can't we just give them the money and business? I don't want anyone trying to hurt my family over money! Ryan and I make enough " Papa

"You can't, your father was a very smart man, he left everything to you, in your absence, the money goes to your kids and so on and on, his will was air tight, he made sure of it" grandma says

"So how do they hope to get the money from Vic?" Papa asks

"There is only one loophole! He can force you to sign the controlling shares to him, that way he can run the business, so he'll try to blackmail you" grandma explains

"So that's were Bianca comes in" Papa says

"I swear to you Vic, I'll find out where our unborn child is!" Dad says

"I don't get it grandma, if they can't run the business, who has been running it?" I ask

"I have trustworthy people your father trusted running it, he made them trustees and they can manage it" she says

"Mum, you've lied to me all my life! You told me you were a writer!" Papa says

"I'm so sorry Vic, I did it to protect you" grandma says holding out her hands for him. Papa takes her hand and says

"I understand mum" he says

"How about our child? Where is the embryo? We saw the doctor do the implant" dad says

"We need to go back to the hospital, doctor Peters has been surprisingly absent every time we visit the hospital!" Papa says

"Come to think of it, he doesn't pick our calls!" Dad replies

"Call our lawyer Ryan, mum you call the police, I'll call the insurance office, no one is getting through to my family, I won't allow it again!" Papa says

"Again? Has someone in our family been kidnapped before?" I ask

Papa, Dad and grandma look at me alarmed. Why do they look alarmed?

"Of course not!" Papa says too quickly

"Why are we calling insurance ?" I ask

"We insured all of you kids against kidnapping, we had to in order to protect you, we have a hefty sum to ensure that incase you are kidnapped, the kidnappers will not kill you" dad explains

"But how?" I ask

"There is a clause, inorder for them to get the money, they have to provide proof of life, that way, they can't kill you and it buys us time to save you" Papa says

I nod my head in understanding.

"Get ready for twenty four hour security, bodyguards included, I'm pulling the twins out of school for now, they will be homeschooled till its safe" Dad says with a note of finality

"But dad..." I try to protest

"I won't hear it Reign, safety first or we'll pull out of school too" Dad says

"Fine!" I say grudgingly

"Now let's deal with this Bianca situation" Papa says
