Sam felt a hand clap down on his left shoulder as he continued listening to the voicemails.
"Torturing yourself by continuing to listening to the doctors voicemail and hers isn't going to bring her back."
Sam looked back downat his phone, reading the text her friend sent him.
"She finally went home, in her sleep."
Same thing the doctor said.
Sam was lost, losing one importantperson after the next.
"I thought it was hard when I lost Riley, but now (Y/N), Idon't know what to do. I mean why? I'mnot sure I'm understanding if there's supposed to be a lesson here or am I just supposed to hurt."
Steve sighed, he understood how Sam felt - it was the same way he felt when he got the news on Peggy.
"Sometimes there isn't a lesson. Sometimes pain and suffering is just that. It doesn't help you build your character or make you stronger. It's just there to hurt."
And hurt, it did.
