Natasha looked down, smiling - a genuine smile for the first time in what seemed like forever.

Sam smiled, a brokenhearted smile. It met his face, but it his eyes.

"It hurts, and it's a tragedy what happened, but out of this tragedy, you have her," Nat smiles down at a little girl wrapped in pink.

"But I don't have (y/n)," Sam whispered, trying not to lose himself.

"Yes, you do. You have pieces and memories of her within your daughter. You'll see little pieces of (y/n) in there as she grows up. She's here."

He smiled, knowing Nat was right. He'd get there eventually - being okay with knowing (y/n) wouldn't be coming back.

Eventually.
