Ch.3: Unexpected Reactions

Mike continued pacing, keeping a close eye on how close Will got to him. Enhance inner actor in 3... 2... 1...

"Hey Mike! What's-"

Mike turned around and grabbed Will by the shoulders throwing on his best panic-stricken face ever.

"Will. I need to talk to you. AV room. Now."

He watched the smaller boy's eyes widen a little from shock before his slowly nodded his head.

"Uh... okay."
"Great."

Mike grabbed Will by the wrist and spun around making his fastest sprint to the AV room. He could feel Will struggling to keep up and begging him to slow down but Mike didn't listen until they finally reached the door. He twisted the handle and pushed it open. After this, he shoved the little boy inside followed by himself as he whipped around and locked the door behind him. Then, he just stared at the door catching his breath because quite frankly, he had gone too fast.

All that was left was the sound of the two boys breathing heavily. One in deep confusion, the other in deep embarrassment for what he was about to do next. Slowly, Mike turned around revealing his eyes to a very concerned looking Will.

"Mike... is... everything okay?"
"Sit please." Mike instructed.

Will did as he was told and pulled a chair from the table and took a seat while Mike made himself comfortable leaning on the wall across from him. They both waited for Mike to mentally prepare for what he was about to do.

Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay Mike it's just... it's just a stupid prank. It'll be over soon. Sure, Will will probably think you're disgusting for a second but once you tell him it's a prank everything will be fine! You guys will be best friends again. Just like before. Now speak. 3, 2, 1, go.

"Will?"

Mike watched the boy look up calmly.

"Yeah Mike?"

Mike swallowed.

I cannot believe I'm actually fucking saying this.

"I love you... more than a friend."

Mike waited for Will to pull back disgusted or for his jaw to drop in anger but... he... well he got something just a little unexpected.

Will's whole body perked up and his eyes widened in surprise. Suddenly he was looking at Mike directly in the eye and holding his breath.

"Are you serious?" He said in a weird tone that sounded almost... hopeful?

Now, what Mike should have done, was tell Will no. He should have clarified that this was all a dare and that he was NOT in fact serious. But instead, Mike wanted to play around with this reaction. And... welp. Congrats bro you fucked up real bad.

"Yes." Mike replied experimenting a little.

However, as soon as the word came out of his mouth it was like pushing the wrong button on a bomb. For some reason, Will's whole face absolutely lit up. A smile formed on his lips wider than any smile Mike had ever seen. His fists were thrust to his chest in excitement and his eyes glimmered like stars. Then, the most unexpected thing came bursting out of the happy boy's mouth.

"I... I LOVE YOU TOO!"
