I needed an answer. This isn't making any evident sense.

Why would Krystal appear just like an invisible wind to him?

I cautiously entered the lighthouse, careful not to step on anything that would generate any sound.

I climbed the spiral stairway as I had a glimpse of the room that was slightly opened, as usual.

I heard a voice. It was Krystal's.

Did she have a visitor?

As far as I knew, I'm her only one.

"Seohyun-sshi, I have to tell him. He deserves to know, right?" She inquired, as I placed my ear just above the door, positioning myself before it.

I heard no one respond. Then she spoke again.

"What if he gets angry at me? What if he'll leave just like Luhan did?"

Luhan? A peculiar name. But it sounds like a guy.

Her lover? Maybe that one in the picture.

She quieted down.

My curiosity got the best of me, so I gathered enough courage to enter the room, whoever this visitor was.

I gently pushed it open, revealing a Krystal that was not in her usual self.

She was sitting on the couch, wearing a black dress, her red lips adding up to her paleness, and her dark locks were messed up, not having the ability to reduce her charm by one bit.

She was still beatiful, her eyes glued to the dark carpet where her feet was, and her hands once again carrying a rose. A blue one.

It took her a few seconds to finally feel my presence.

Her eyes were at a lost, while her lips were slightly parted as she stared at me.

"Were you with someone?" I asked, quite surprised that she was alone. She then shooked her head.

"No. Why?" Her voice was weaker than usual, adding up to my curiosity.

"I thought I heard you talking to someone. Or was it... yourself?" I quirked a brow upward, questioning.

"Ah, yeah. I was talking to myself." She tried to smile, though I can sense that she was a bit uneasy.

Her eyes were exploring the place, except for the spot where I stood.

"Who is Seohyun?" I tried to ask calmly, since I know something was a bit off.

I felt her tense, her eyes dilating in surprise as she looked at me.

"N-no one."

"Krystal, am I still a stranger to you? Don't you trust me?" Hurt was obvious in my tone, my eyes trying to look tough but somehow failing.

She looked down, her face displaying a grimace. A few seconds and she responded.

"Sehun, I.... I don't deserve your love. I've been selfish." She looked away.

"What.... are you saying?"

"I'm not like you, Sehun. I'm.... far from being human." She shook her head, gaining yet another confusion from me.

What? Far from... a ghost? A spirit? An angel? What is she?

"Who.... what are you then?" I tilted my head to the side, as my eyes narrowed at her. What is she trying to say?

"I'm only a fragment of my former self... a lost soul." She looked up, meeting my gaze with her troubled eyes.

What on earth is this woman saying?

She's a soul? But I can touch her. How can that be?

"Seohyun. She's the body that I borrowed for my own desires. That's why you can touch me like a normal being can be touched."

It's like she read my mind. But living in another's body? Why?

"So that isn't your actual face?" Nothing was clear. I'm still confused.

"No, this is my face. I somehow incorporated it in her body. All of these is me, only that this isn't really mine. I owe this to her."

Confusion was at its best. This day is to be remembered, I noted.

"Why would you take over her body?" My voice was nervous, and at the same time, curiousity was also there.

"I made an oath to myself Sehun, and a contract to her as well." She put the rose on her side, and clasped her hands together, looking ahead of her.

"What... contract is that?"

"I would use her body, until I'll find that one guy who'll heal my scars. The one who'll heal my soul. The one who'll set me free." She looked at me intently, never planning to let it go.

"Have you... already found him?"

I was really hoping it to be me, but I was afraid that when she'll say yes, it would all be over. She would leave.

"Aren't you even mad at me?" She said with such hurt, her eyes quivering, that I wanted to hold her in my arms, to assure her that everything is alright.

"I lied to you." She spat, avoiding my gaze.

I shook my head.

"Lying is different from not telling me a thing." I chuckled. "Nonetheless, I can't be mad at you. I... I hold deep feelings for you that holds no room for anger, Krystal." I smiled, feeling good to utter her sweet name in my lips.

She smiled. "My real name is Soojung, please call me that now." The smile was still plastered on her face, which was actually a sad one.

"Soojung." I tried to call her, and somehow that name was so unfamiliar that it was suddenly familiar. A very odd feeling.

"I'm just wondering...."

"Hm?"

"Why can't others see you even if you borrowed a human form? And why do I have the ability to do so?"

She smiled once more, approaching me with her steps drawing nearer as I took in a deep breath.

"You're different. Ever since that first night we've met, I didn't actually thought that you'd see me. No one did." She looked away, still smiling.

"Why is that?"

"I don't know, myself. And my senses were right, I think it's because you're the person I've been waiting for." She stopped in front of me, meeting my gaze with her brown orbs.

"Will you leave?"

She hesitated, but replied.

"I have to. I've made a deal with Seohyun, and I have to keep up with it. I also need to rest, Sehun. Seven years have been too long." She smiled, gently squeezing my hand, looking at me in the eye.

"But..."

"Nothing will change my mind, Sehun. My fate. My only purpose was to fulfill my hope of being loved again. And I have to thank you for that." Her lips twitched a bit, forming into a small smile.

"Can I... stay for tonight? Please. This will probably be the last. I have to spend more time with you.... Soojung." I sounded much desperate than I expected myself to be.

"Please do." She smiled and pulled me into a warm embrace, as I felt my shirt being drenched with something.

Tears.

Her tears.

If only I had the power to let her stay.

But one night is all I could ask for, for her to be by my side.
