She was frustrated, irritated with where her life was headed.

The hole in her heart grew each day,

With trips to the lab and

The whips of the gas.

Sitting down at the table,

The calculations hammered at her brain.

The pouring rain,

Brought joy and the feeling of freeing self.

Maybe she could give it all up

And start on her own.

It'll be a downfall

That's what the whole world said.

She still climbed up the wall

To breathe and feel alive

By doing what she did best.

She felt their grip and nails on her ankles

Acting like shackles

Pulling and holding her down.

That's not the right way of life

For a young lady with a respected class.

If being dignified bought so much stress

She thought it was better to run away.

She knew she wouldn't exactly find paradise

She will at least get to live her own life.

As she sat in the comfortable nooke

Pecking away these words on the keyboard,

Looking around her small yet happy home

She felt the adrenaline rush in

Thinking of all those things she had done

That finally landed her where she was now.

It was so evident.

She had escaped!
