DAN'S POINT OF VIEW

Ava had spilled her entire life story on me, and I couldn't help but feel even more bad for her than I already had been. She lived alone in the world, had horrible things done to her, had no one to love her, she had nothing, and she has nothing. As I drive us back to my house she falls asleep against the door, but out of the corner of my eyes I can't help but notice how adorable she is in my favorite sweater. "I promise I'll protect you." I whisper.

When we make it back to my house, I don't bother to wake her up. I open my door and reach in to carry her bridal style to the house and onto the couch. She only opened her eyes a little bit to turn her head towards the back of the couch and muttered, "Goodnight Dan." I chuckled and replied with a "Goodnight Ava." And covered her up. I picked out a movie to play as background noise and took my place on the other couch, passing out for the night.
