Suddenly, the computer beeped. They had located the Tesseract.
"Got it," Stark announced, walking to the screen. Bruce took his eyes off Nina and walked behind Tony.
"Sorry, kids, you don't get to see my party trick after all," Bruce said.
"Located the Tesseract?" Thor asked.
"I can get there faster.." Tony said.
"Look, all of us-"
"The Tesseract belongs to Asgard, no human is a match for it," Thor announced. Nina felt personally attacked.
"Excuse you!" She told the god. "It definetly does not belong to Asgard."
At the same time, Tony turned to leave. Steve stopped him, standing in front of the door.
"You're gonna stop me?" Tony asked.
"Put on the suit and we'll see."
"I'm not afraid to hit an old man," Tony jokes. At that moment, Bruce was the only one actually looking at the monitor. He suddenly gave it a look of surprise.
"Oh my god," he whispered.
Before Tony or Nina could walk around it to see what he had seen, the whole room shook and everyone was thrown into a different direction. As soon as they stood back up, Steve put his hand on Tony's shoulder.
"Put on the suit!" He yelled again.
"Yep!" Tony answered, running out of his room.
Steve and Nina looked around to see that Natasha, Bruce and Thir had been thrown out of the room through a hole made by the explosion. Nina ran to a screen.
"We lost an engine," she told Fury. "If we lose another one were going down."
She ran to the console room, where she saw Clint. Except... it wasn't Clint. His eyes were completely blue, under the effect of the Mind Stone. Suddenly, everyone heard a roar. That was it. The Hulk was out. Clint ran away, probably to another control room where he could hack into more SHIELD files and steal more information, but before he did, he shit Nina with an electric arrow, making her drop to the ground shaking.
Flashback consumed Nina's mind. Back in 1953, before she became a soldier/killer for HYDRA, they had to use multiple types of torture to weaken her mind, so that they could place the sacred words that turned her into a monster in her head. Nina saw herself and James Barnes being tortured, everyday, until one of them gave in. It had been her. Bucky was always stronger than her, he resisted for years before finally letting the scientists turn him.
Nina swore under her breath and ecided to be strong. For Bucky. She used the strength she had left in her body to move her hand and tear out the arrow from her shoulder. Once she stopped convulsing, she took a deep breath.
"Is anyone there?" She heard vaguely form her com. Her ears were still ringing. It was Fury, Nina guessed. "Does anyone copy?" He asked more urgently. She heard a small 'I copy' from Natasha.
"Yeah," Nina whispered into the com, not trusting her voice just yet.
"Both Barton and Loki are still out there. We are taking care of Loki's minions."
"I've got Barton," Natasha said.
"Ill get Loki." And with that, she turned off her com.
