two days later, I walked through the cold park instead.

I wanted to see you again and I did. but this time, you noticed me first and came up to me- offering to buy me a hot drink and you thanked me for the coffee. you were so polite and the way words fell out of your mouth was as smooth as rich chocolate. I wanted to hear you talk more. it's funny how you appear so calming, tranquil but inside, you were a seething tempest.

I declined your offer and smiled. you thanked me again and left.

the next time I saw you, it was on the train- we were both alone and in line of each other's sight.

I was listening to a love song when I saw you- a song about wanting to hold and kiss someone. it's ironic how the song tells its audience that love comes for everyone, that everyone will eventually be held, kissed and loved for. but what they miss out is that love is temporary. they miss out reality.

at one point in our train journey, I looked to find you staring at me and you smiled at me.
