9- Sick

The guys were hilarious.

Tyler Austin took a little time to warm up to me, but I guess seeing his teammates being so nice to me made him decide to join in.

After talking to Giancarlo, Aaron introduced to me to Aaron Boone, who was really sweet. He looked a little shocked when I told him my last name, but made no indication that he was going to hold it over my head.

Greg Bird and Didi Gregorius came next, and they were the first, other than G and Aaron, to joke with me and make me laugh. Didi had a bit of an accent, which I was used to. When he told me, I thought it was so cool that he was Dutch. We talked about his girlfriend Judy, and I talked to Greg about his cat. It was interesting.

Brett Gardner and Aaron Hicks were the last two Aaron said he'd introduce me to today. He didn't want to overwhelm me. We didn't talk about much, but they were all so nice and didn't seem to care that I was Andrew's sister.

I don't really know why I was so worried. It just got into my head, and the shyness that I thought the guys knocked out of me came back full force.

"Olivia?"

Shit.

I looked up at Aaron, who was grimacing. I sighed and turned around, seeing Andrew with Brock.

"Hi," I said.

Brock spoke first. "What are you doing here? I thought you were sick."

I scoffed, looking over at my brother. "Really, Drew? You're telling them I'm sick?" I asked and he shrugged.

"It beats you lying to all of us, doesn't it?" He asked and I shook my head, smiling.

When I was mad, I either cried or smiled. The smiling was weird, but Andrew knew my real smile and my pissed off smile.

"Fine. I'll tell the truth, then. Brock, I'm friends with Aaron. I was at his house last month when I said I was on a walk. We hung out like friends do. Glad I could tell you," I said, giving Andrew an exaggerated tightlipped smile.

Aaron put his hand on my lower back, rubbing it with his thumb. Brock looked over at Andrew, confused. "We need to talk. The three of us. Excuse us, Aaron," Brock said and I took a step back.

"Why?" I asked, standing closer to Aaron.

"Liv, you two clearly need to talk. Just come with me for a couple of minutes, please," Brock said and I bit my lip.

"Go, you need to talk to your brother. You can't be mad at him for long," Aaron told me, gently pushing me forward.

I looked back at him and he smiled, making me roll my eyes. "Fine. But he's the one being an ass," I told Brock.

"Oh, I'm sure. Let's go, princess," Brock said, walking in front of us to their dugout.

I pulled out my phone, texting Aaron.

I hate you.
Aaron: No you don't
We're not going out tonight
Aaron: Yes we are
I'm staying in this dugout.
Aaron: You're still gonna cheer for me

I rolled my eyes again, putting my phone away. He wasn't wrong.

Brock led us to an office-like room, shutting the door behind him.

"All right! Andrew, you tell Olivia why you're angry. But you cannot degrade anyone while doing so," Brock said, clapping his hands once.

"Not possible. Why the hell are you here?" Andrew asked, looking pissed.

"I'm here to support my friends, even my douche brother," I snapped.

His eyes narrowed and he shook his head. "You're here for your boyfriend," he said, basically spitting out the word 'boyfriend.'
