Chapter 5

Grandma tossed and turned as she got a shocking sense and vision of something was wrong.

She shot up from bed and looked around the house for her granddaughter.

"Samuel! Colleen!" She called out as she ran to their room. "Katie is gone!"

After hearing that, Samuel and Colleen shot up as well. "What?!" Samuel said.

Samuel looked over to his nightstand to see his resume gone and the flower pin she wore the day before.

Samuel rushed out of bed, looked into her room to see she was not there. He also found chunks of what was once her long hair.

He then rushed over to see his army uniform, sword, and eventually Rover.....Gone.

Samuel ran outside, skys beginning to lighten up as the rain began to die down.

"KATIE!" Samuel called out for only to lose footing and fall to the ground. He looked up to see the gates bursted open, knowing she had left. "No....."

Colleen Rushed to him and kneeled by his side. "Samuel you have to go after her! She could get herself killed!" She said as tears began to fall.

Samuel looked at his wife with an upset expression. He took a deep breath and said......

"If I reveal her, she would be."

Colleen continues to cry, knowing her young daughter will be dead and probably won't see her again.

From a distance, Grandma stood as she watched them cry.

"Please, our dear ancestors," she began. "Please watch over Katie and make sure she is safe...."

At the ancestors tombs, there was silence and a hint of light coming from the morning sky.

A ringing sounded as the words in one of the tombs lit up. A spirit rose up and sat on his tomb and calling out...

"Green, Awake!"

Suddenly, a tiny bronze statue lit up with a hint of green as it was casted to waken.

It fell to the floor and a puff of green appeared. A shadow then began to rise saying....

"I LIVE!!!"

The smoke cleared to reveal.....a small tiny standing green lion?

"Well tell me what mortal needs my protection, great ancestor! You just say the word and I'll be there for them..."

"Green-"

"AND LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! If someone dares threaten this family, VENGEANCE WILL BE MINE!!"

"Ugh..."

The spirit sighed. "Green, these are the family guardians." He said Pointing to statues on petastols. "And they....?"

Green sighed, "protect the family...."

"And you? Oh demoted one....?"

"Ring the gong..." Green sighed.

"Indeed, now wake the ancestors."

Green grabbed her gong. "One family reunion coming right up." She complained as she banged the gong. "Okay everybody, wakey wakey. Time to get a move on...."

The spirits of the ancestors of the Holt family awoke and sat by their tombs to begin their metting.

All was quiet until...

"I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! THAT KATIE WAS A TROUBLE MAKER FROM THE START!"
