Chapter 12 | for your own good

Keith's pov:

I walked back over towards the home me and lance had been staying at, lance said he will be with his family for about an hour longer so now would be a good time to feed seeing I shouldn't be feeding on lance anymore as I will probably go to far soon.

I ran through the woods looking past every tree and every shrub looking for something, anything that carries blood.

Finally, I had found a small doe grazing on some grass peacefully.

Sometimes I actually felt bad for having to be so inhuman and cruel to animals, but it's what we do I guess?

As I watched the doe and planned out my attack I could hear ruffling behind me in the bush, I guess the doe had too as she got up and began to run away.

I growled lowly and began to chase after the doe anyway knowing I probably wouldn't be able to kill it from where I am.

When I gave up on running I angrily looked behind me to see shiro leaning against a tree with a cigarette between his lips.

"What the fuck do you want?" I asked leaning against a tree across from him

"Oh nothing I just like watching you struggle" he spoke with a evil grin, he's up to something

I rolled my eyes and sat on a rock beside a tree, I looked back up to him, as he slowly walked over he threw his cigarette on the ground stepping on it.

"So, here's the deal, I want you to break up with that disgusting human" he said squatting in front of me

"No, why?" I asked

"Because he's disgusting and he's human which makes it 10x worse!" He said genuinely getting angry over the fact that he's different from our kind

"What's in it for you if I break up with him, you obviously want me to break up with him for a reason" I said

"I want you to be mine" he said

My eyes widened "w-what?!"

"You heard me" Shiro said getting closer

"Shiro! You killed me! And almost raped me! And now you want me to be yours" I yelled

"I only killed you because you were going to leave me! Besides now we can spend a lifetime and longer together" he said giving me a creepy smile

"You're sick" I spat standing up and leaving

"You'll regret saying that to me" he said

"I doubt it" I said flipping him off as I walked back suddenly not even the slightest bit hungry

When I arrived back home it was dark, I think lance should be back by now.

When I unlocked the house door I called for lance, luckily he called back which brought me a lot of joy

I ran upstairs and into our room where he was on his laptop which he probably had either in his backpack or brought from home

"Ok so I kinda need to talk to you about something" I said

"Me too!" He said closing his laptop looking really excited to share his news

"Alright you first" I said sitting in front of him on the bed

"I told my parents! I came out!" He said excitedly

"Oh that's great! How'd it go?!" I asked suddenly excited as well

"They are super happy for me, I still have yet to introduce you but I kinda want to let the gay part settle in first" he said with a smile

"That's great news lance" I said smiling

"Now what did you want to say?" He asked

"Ok so I don't want to be a downer but i kinda have some bad news" I said and as I did lances smile faded which made my heart hurt

"W-what is it?" He asked

"You need to be changed" I said nervously fidgeting with my fingers

"Ok, but why?" He asked seeming fine with it

"Because of Shiro and well... me" I said

"What, why you? And why Shiro?" He asked becoming confused

"Because Shiro wants to kill you, he's grown jealous that he isn't you and it's a lot harder for him to kill you if you are a vampire, especially a New blood" I explained

"Oh, how long does it take to change?" He asked

"Hours, days? I don't know honestly we are going to have to do it with my parents they know what they are doing" I said lance nodding along as he listened

"But why do I need to change because of you?" He asked obviously nervous for what my answer will be

"Because I will continue having urges to kill you until... I do" I said biting my lip looking down at my hands and then looking back up to lance "it's for your own good, but you need to want to do it, because if aren't 100% on board and I do it you could um... die" I said

"I want it, I want to live a life with you forever, I don't want to give Shiro what he wants, I want you Keith and only you, I-i love you" lance said smiling as he finally said 'I love you'

I smiled and kissed him pushing him onto his back, "I love you too" I spoke gasping for air

Lance smiled into the kiss and then deepened it grabbing the back of my neck and pulling me down.

This was a great and terrible night.
