Chapter 9: A date with a demon

I woke up and looked at my clock, 8:00 am. I have two hours before my date with Derek, so I got out of bed then picked out a simple black dress to wear, once I got dress I did a bit of light make up and put a small flower clip in my hair. When I was done I got a matching purse to go with the outfit and sat down waiting for Derek to arrive.

Once the clock read 10:00 am there was a knock at the door, I got up and once I opened the door I saw Derek in a black dress shirt and dress pants.

His hair was the same as it always is and he had a single black rose in his hands. It took him a little to notice that I had opened the door and when he did notice a small blush made its way on to his face, but it soon went away and he handed me the rose, I smiled as I took the rose from Derek and went inside to put it in some water. When I came back out I locked the door then we were off. We walked to a little cafe, the same cafe where I helped Derek with his homework. Once we went in and sat down I said "this place brings back memories" "yeah, that's why I wanted to come here. This is where we hung out for the first time" I nodded then said "and this is where you complained that school was to hard" I giggled as Derek started to blush of embarrassment. As we continued to talk a waiter came over and said "what can I get for you two today?" Derek said "I'll have a piece of Oreo cheesecake and a chocolate milkshake" "and I'll have a hot fudge sundae and a lemonade please" the waiter nodded then went off to get our food. We went on to talk about school, our friends and other things that has happened, when our food came we continued to talk as we ate, telling jokes and funny stories to make each other laugh. Once we were done I went to take the bill but Derek got to it first and said "my treat" then he payed the bill and we left. After we left the cafe we went to the park and sat on a bench to take a little break, as we were sitting there I realized something and I turned to Derek and said "hey Derek, you know a lot about me and my past but I don't know yours" Derek looked over at my and said "you want to know my past?" I nodded then he said "let's see, I'll start with the basics, so my name is Derek Hellforce, I am the demon prince of the Kingdom of Shadows, I was born June 10, 1848 and sometimes I am called the Dark Lord by other demons" I looked at him with wide eyes and said "your a prince?" he nodded, then I remembered my dad told me about a demon known as the Dark Lord, he is said to be the root of all evil, but looking at Derek he don't look to be all bad then he said "what else do you want to know?" "how about your childhood?" he nodded then spoke "well, I was locked in the castle not allowed to leave until I was 117, I had no friends,my mom was killed by a hunter when I was 70, I wish I could have saved her" "I'm sorry" "it's ok, but after all that has happened in my life I'm amazed I can trust a human" "I feel the same, you think I would hate demons after one took my dad" he nodded and we went on to talk about some other things when Derek asked "what was your dad like?" I thought for a minute then said "he was strong, caring and always willing to help others. He made sure I was safe no matter the cost, he was always afraid I would get hurt somehow, but he was never afraid to die" he nodded then I asked "what about your mom, what was she like?" "well, she never let anything happen to me, when I got a little cut she would make a big deal out of it, but no matter what happened she was always by my side whenever I needed her" I smiled as we got up to walk around the park. Hours passed as we continued to walk then I noticed it was starting to get dark, Derek noticed too, so we started walking to my house. Once we got there I said "I had a great time today, thank you, Derek" he smiled then he did something I never thought he would do, he leaned in and placed a small kiss on my lips then he said "I hope we can do this again sometime" then his black wings appeared and he took to the sky, flying away. I stood there with a deep blush on my face for about a minute before unlocking my door and going inside. When I went in I closed and locked the door before going upstairs to my room to get ready for bed. After I took a shower and got into my pajamas, I sat at the end of my bed, took out my journal and opened it up to a clean page to write.
     Dear Mom and Dad
Today I went on a date with Derek, I learned a lot about him today too, I never knew he was a prince and he's also the Dark Lord, but he doesn't seem that bad. We went to the cafe where we hung out for the first time then we talked and got a snack before we went to walk around the park. When he brought me home he kissed me before he flew away, it was a quick kiss but nice. Tomorrow I have a date with Grayson, I can't wait to see what will happen. I love you, until next time

I closed my journal, put it back into my bag, turned out the lights then went to sleep thinking about the great day I had and about what awaits me on my date tomorrow.
