Loki's adopted daughter

Nightmares

Updates my vary by a day or two for the next few weeks as I prep for and recover from surgery. I'll try to stick to my regular updating schedule though. Wish me luck!

Holly
It's so cold. I opened my eyes and I wasn't in my room. It was dark and I could hear people talking. I got up and walked towards the voices. I peek around a corner and there were really tall blue people. I was scared so I stayed hidden.
"We were betrayed. We were tricked. But now we will wage war against that traitor and the world he now calls home. We will march in Laufeys name!" they all started cheering loudly. After they calmed down a bit I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding and one of them saw me. He yelled at me and I screamed.
"Ahhhhh!" I was thrashing and my hands were hitting something until someone grabbed my wrists.
"Holly, it was just a dream!" I opened my eyes and I was back in my room and Loki was holding my wrists. I started crying and leaned into Loki. He let go of my wrist and I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tight. When he didn't hug me back I let him go but then he put his arms around me.
"It's alright" he rubbed my back and I wrapped my arms back around him. "Are you alright?" I pulled back to look at him.
"I had a nightmare and it was cold and there were big scary blue people with red eyes" he made a curious face at me but I contuied my story. "They were yelling about Laufey-"
"Laufey?" I shook my head yes.
"Yeah, and then one of them saw me" he was looking at me but it seemed more like he was thinking rather than listening.
"Who told you about Laufey?" I scrunched up my face.
"I don't know what Laufey is" he stared past me deep in thought. "Loki?"
"Hmm?" I had a concerned expression on my face and he noticed. He smiled to put me at ease and it worked. "Come on, you should eat breakfast before your tutor gets here"

Loki
Every day Holly studies with her tutor, she talks with every one in the tower to some extent, and she smiles more but every morning she wakes up screaming from nightmares. She's lived at the tower for almost a month but in the last week she's been dreaming of the other realms. No one ever told her about them but she's had detailed dreams about Jotenheim, Muspelheim, Nidavelliar, and Svartalfheim. When I put her down in her bed, I stayed with her until she fell asleep. After I went to my own room and fell asleep there in the middle of the night I felt my blankets moving and a small body curl up next to me. In my barely conscious state I wrapped my arm around her and placed a gentle kiss on her head.
"Night daddy" I get that now familiar warm feeling in my chest that appears whenever she smiles at me or calls me her father while she's still half asleep. As familiar as this feeling is to me now I still can't name it, but I fall asleep with it consuming me.
