Mami Pov

I had awaited for all my sons to return, though Reiji had reported back that the little miss had fainted. Upset that she had fainted I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy of another presence...unknown to me then I was correct...

Making a start, I set up plates and utensils as Reiji helped me.

"Oh darling you don't need to come and aid me in this."
Pouting when he shook his head.

"Mother It'd be more efficient if both of us do so."
Giggling I went and walked over to where he stood, going onto my toes and pet his head.

"Reiji is a good boy isn't he? Heheheh I just know in future my strapping, young, gentleman of a son will get married to a lucky woman!"
Squealing excitedly as Reiji blushed from the praise.

"Please mother...that is very much flustering..."
I giggle as I caress my son's cheeks.

"Heheheh but my son it's cute!"
A chuckle was heard from behind me as I turn and see Laito, I giggling myself.

"Heheheh glad to have you here my son! Tell me, doesn't your older brother look cute when he's flustered???"
Reiji coughed slightly as he frowns.

"Mother there is no room for discussion about thi-"
Reiji was cut off by his brothers coming in with smirks, excluding Laito who was already in the room grinning, Subaru who had a scowl and Shu who just wore a blank expression.

Ayato started.
"Heheh I think it suits you Reiji. It's an improvement from your usual frown."

Kanato giggled creepily, agreeing. I go over to him and pet his hair, carressng his face with my other hand.

"My son go ahead and eat early, your meal might get cold and your dessert might melt."
His eye shines as he runs over to the table, getting all ready and seated to eat.

Giggling I go over to the rest of my sons, in which they were teasing Reiji, though Subaru and Shu did not participate in the teasing.

"Heheheh alright dears time to eat, let's discuss this another time."
Reiji sighed in relief as the teasing had came into a conclusion for now. The two who mainly teased, Laito and Ayato, had pouted as they all nod to me. They walk over to the dining table where Kanato was already sat, and eating.

I sit at the end of the table as I start with my warm honey and milk. As I did so my sons saw I only had cheese cake again.

"Mother you know that will make you fat if you always eat that?"
Ayato had spoke out as everyone else glared at him, I giggling.

"Oh don't worry I know Ayato. I just can't help it! It just taste so good and well, it reminds me of my old home with my full family, with my sister and when my father was still alive. He would always prepare it for me and...heh call me his little teddy bear...Reason being I so chubby back then and he'd always cuddle and squeeze my cheeks! It annoyed me but you couldn't help but love him. You'd love him as a grandparent. He and my mother both would spoil you guys!"
I just smile remembering my father, slight tears of happiness stream down my cheeks as I just nom on my cake.

Narrative's Pov

Ayato bit his lip, slightly regretting what he had asked. Though he had at least discovered something about Mami that gives him more of a positive outlook of her. She really is nothing like what he, or his other siblings, had as a mother.

Mami wipes her tears as she chuckled to herself.
"I guess our own lives teach us that, we never truly know how much you love someone till they are completely gone. Though that may be so, our memory of them will live on. As long as we never forget them, they are still here, watching over us. that is a lesson I want you boys to learn and understand. Because when I die, I don't want the happiness I have created, and plan on continuing to do so, to fade."

The boys gave uneasy and discomforted looks, not liking the thought of their still new mother. Mami had felt the tension she had created and smiled, giving a soft laugh.

"Boys don't think about it. That is in a distant future and we can't progress on anything if we were to just dot on the future. As well as dropping back into the past, I apologies for thinking about what is said. The past and future isn't the now where we have the chance and the ability to do something. To make things better and make new memories spent with the people around you that, both love and care for you. Even if they don't show it, or show a more disgust or hatred look, they will come to a realisation on the reasoning behind those looks, the true reason. Because the answer you and the other who gives such look doesn't actually really know that reason till things are talked and straightened out. Makes an easier conversation to make such, as well as finding the truth. Now let's not talk anymore, our food will get cold."
Mami grinned, the boys nodding to her philosophical bullshit they continue to dine. Inside their subconcious they think of their mother's words. Her philosophical bullshit turned into a life lesson.

I apologize for taking long, just had to grow up a bit and make time for my stories. I am trying to make progress with my free time I try to get but so far this what what i am able to publish. Chapters from most favoured and requested fanfics will be finished and published, hopefully on and earlier date. But until then sadly be patient with me. ~ Author
