Never let me go

Chapter 13:

Ashton’s pov:
Its been 5 days since the wedding. Aspen hasn’t woken up. They said her lungs filled up again. This time they couldn’t do much, she is on an oxygen tank that’s 2 times stronger than the one that they usually use. But this time I know she isn’t going to make it. Ive been dreading this day ever since we’ve found out, but I knew it was coming and I knew I couldnt stop it.

Michael is taking it worse than all of us, hes been by her side the whole time. He hasn’t left. I feel bad for him, but then again I know how much he loves her. Aspen was right, I needed to be more worried about him than I did her.

“Hey man why you don’t go take a walk” I said touching his shoulder causing him to wake up.

“What? Oh no im fine” he said rubbing his eyes

“Mike, go ill call you if she wakes up okay?” I smiled assuringly

He hesitantly nodded and got up placing a kiss on her head and exited the room.

I sat in his former seat and looked over at my mum and dad who were asleep. They also haven’t left her side, but they are her parents,. Our parents.

“Hey baby sis” I laughed at myself, can she even hear me? “I know you probably cant hear me, but if you can, just listen. I want you to know that you are the most special person that ive ever met. Not because you’re my sister, but because it’s the truth. I know for a fact that Michael loves you more than anything. I do too. If you could just wake up, that would be really amazing” I said letting a tear fall from my eye.

After a couple minutes of me sitting with my head on her lap I heard something.

“A-Ash?” I heard a faint voice.

I lifted my head up to see a weak Aspen looking down at me.

“Aspen? Mum , Dad” I yelled as they woke up startled

“Aspen!” my mum said

“Ash, t-tell Michael..” she said as her eyes closed began to close

“Tell him what Aspen?” I said trying to hold myself together.

She looked at me once more and said with her last breath.
“Always.”
