She kissed me the way you kiss someone when you don't know when you are going to see them again. When each moment is precious, I kissed her back with an equal fervor. My love, she was my dearest love. I held her close and tight until time froze. It hung suspended in the air for just a moment. I let the floral scent of her hair linger in my nose. I held her close. Her hand in the small of my back. Our tight embrace was a heaven in a sort of ordinary hell. She was going soon yet I wanted to her to stay, but this was best, best for everyone. I stood there waving goodbye at the terminal until she disappeared in a sea of strangers. My heels clicked against the floor as I hurried to make it to work. My fitted pencil skirt didn't allow for the longest steps so my stride was a scurry of short quick paces. I loved her. I knew it deep within in me that I did yet I had let her go.
