Kimberly Harris was a nervous wreck. It was her very first protest, how could she not be.
And to make matters worse, she was going to have to walk around her mom and dad's jobs. Just dandy.
"Are you ready?" Her boyfriend, Christopher Jones, asks. Hoping she'll say no and they could leave.
"Ready as I'll ever be" She says, tucking a lock of her honey brown hair behind her ear.
Just as she said that, the protest began.
Hey, ho! We want equality! An apology! The group said.
Then, everything went by in a flash.
The only thing Kimberly could see was a bullet. And a gun. And blood. Oh, so much blood.
The sickly sweet smell fills the air.
Kimberly is very, very quiet.
Until she turns her head slightly to the right.
Slightly to the right were people, possibly hundreds of them, surrounding a bleeding Christopher.
He'd been shot, God knows where and God knows if he'd survive.
