A person walks into a dark alley. He fumbles to pull his keys out of his longcoat pocket. Eventually, he frees them and jams the correct key into the lock, turns it, and replaces it in his pocket. He steps back and the door slowly swings open, creaking loudly.
Instantaneously, his smell is berated by an air unlike any he knows. It feels warm and a tad muggy, but also cool and empty. It seemed to alternate between the two whenever he became comfortable with one. There is also the smell of electricity and shadows.
A green light activates near the ceiling at the center of a now-revealed, giant warehouse. The light is no where near strong enough to penetrate all of the gloom, but its weak aura manages to bathe across some of the metal ridges in the walls and support beams all around. Doors are now visible around the edges of the room. Excluding the one he came through, the curious person counted ten. Three on the left had been boarded up and were no longer accessible. However, a hammer lay next to those three. Two showed signs of frequent use, but were also dirtier. One, on the right side, emanated a strange darkness. A darkness that seemed to pull at the human. The darkness carried itself well, in control of itself and the spaces it spread to. Another on that side emanated a chilling darkness. One that sucked the vitality out of the mind whom dwelled on it. A third door on that side seemed ashy and white, and filled the person's mind with fear, doubt, and hoplessness. The fourth...he could not focus on. He could not seem to focus on it or perceive it, so he moved on to the last door. The last door laughed at him.
It started with a quiet echo, grew to a crazy rumble, and descended into an insane cackling.
Ghoul: *slowly calms down his laughter* Welcome, [?*?÷]-- *bursts out laughing again* Oh, that's hilarious! You're hiding behind symbols and trickery! No wonder "he" pulls to you. Well, I guess all of them do. Don't they, [?*?÷]? Also, how you expect our audience to pronounce that?
[?*?÷): W-who are you supposed to be?
Ghoul: I go by ghoul, gool? Get it? I said "gool" instead of "cool" so it would--
[?*?÷]: No, no. I get it. Fine, Ghoul. Another one, I suppose? Another aspect?
Ghoul: You got it, glass!
[?*?÷]: Glass?
Ghoul: Yeah, pieces!
[?*?÷]: What?
Ghoul: Shattered.
[?*?÷]: Is this just you...or are you trying to say something?
Ghoul: I wouldn't dream of saying any broken of the sort!
[?*?÷]: You aren't making sense.
Ghoul: Good for you, fragments!
[?*?÷]: This...may not have been a good idea.
Ghoul: You are way too far in to stop it now! Come with me, and e̵͕̙̯͔͈̔͌̈͗͜n̸̢̨͙͖̬͆t̸͇̔́e̵̛̲̩̺͒̓̊͝r̶͍̥̖̝͙̮͍̈́̇͂̑͠ ̶̩͍͈̣͇̪͖̽̀t̷̩͎̽͗̽̚͝ͅh̶̞̯̤̮̟̝̝̐̇̀̒̆͝ẻ̴̹̜͈̩͓̖͖̐̑́̆͛ ̶̤̝̺̩̎̔͋̄̾̊M̴̡̝̘̬̐͂̐̀͜y̷͉̠͓̫̆̂ś̶̳͙̲͐̓p̵̨̭̻̃̄̏̆͑͑̈-̷̨̧̛͚͚̋͌̾̕R̷̬̺̀e̶͖̮̿̽̓ä̶̧́̓̂́̀̓ͅl̶̢̋m̶͈̪̞̎̾̒͑͐.
[?*?÷]: This hardly seems safe, or wise.
Ghoul: You want wise? Get Superior over here! Or his pet Jedi! You are no match for me. You want safe? Search for the triplets. But you locked them away. Your past has faded. The future is all you have. Now follow me.
[?*?÷]: ...
Ghoul: Hm? Injured? Hurt? I just run you through with a silver blade? Good. This is all you, so...you aren't getting away.
[?*?÷]: Understood.
Ghoul: Haha. I have you now. Take my hand and we'll be away.
[?*?÷] took the strange hand of the Ghoul. The bones of the hand were visible, but they were wrapped in a greenish mist up until fading beneath the creature's cloak.
The Ghoul yanked hard, pulling [?*?÷] off balance and forcing him to flail his arms in order to keep upright. The Ghoul led him by all of the doors, the effects of the rightmost ones washing over [?*?÷] in turn.
They came up to a raised platform of dark red brick. A single step brought them to the top. As [?*?÷]'s eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw a glass pane. Several feet behind which stood another door. One that had been clouded in darkness before.
Ghoul: Break it.
Glass pieces, shattered broken fragments.
A/N: This is...present tense? How dare I write in present tense! *drags eyelids down*
