The meeting was a bittersweet feeling; as much as it brought back memories of their obscure past and recollections of hard moments they had to face together, they were incredibly happy to meet again and finally be able to catch up after a whole year of disconnection. Jungkook broke their contact to help her sit down, a reassuring hand on her arm. He noticed glimpses of tears in her eyes, and it only made her radiant blue irises pop even brighter. His hand instinctively reached out to hers on the table, and he intertwined their fingers as they had done many times in the past, comforting one another. In that small moment they simply took each other in, noticing how much they had changed in so little time. One year was enough to chance a person completely, it seemed.

"Taehyung should be here soon," Jungkook said with a warm smile. "Let's wait for him before we start catching up, hm? Want some coffee?"

She nodded and he stood up, breaking the contact of their hands to walk up to the counter and look at the extensive variety of coffees. He had no clue what to get for himself, and even less for Jess, so he ordered two latte bowls as they seemed to be a classic for any coffee drinker. He felt his heart beat fast in his chest, giddy, as he thought of all the things he had to tell her, and anticipated all the things she would share with him. The last image he had had of her was all but joyful, and her new appearance only reassured him and made him even happier. He twisted his head to the side as the barista called his order, and he reached to take the two coffees before walking back to the table. Jess thanked him and smiled gleefully, before suddenly turning her head to face the entrance at the sound of a bell chiming. Jungkook's eyes shot up from his coffee as he saw Taehyung quite literally running into the coffee shop, eyes darting across the room.

"Jess..." Taehyung mumbled, out of breath, as he stared directly at her and no one else.

"Tae..."

She stood up abruptly, almost knocking the table down, before throwing her purse on the ground and springing into his arms. A loud sob escaped her lips as her body clashed against his, and they held each other tightly, relinquishing of the comforting feeling of one another, before breaking the hug and staring at each other's faces. Taehyung took Jess' face in between his hands as he analyzed every little part of her face, mesmerized yet also confused at how much she had changed. She did the same, her thumb softly caressing his cheek, before pulling him into a hug once again.

Jungkook wiped a single tear from his cheek as he watched them, a knot forming in his throat. It was truly a beautiful sight to see; two long life friends meeting after a long while of being separated. He pulled a chair for Taehyung to sit as they came back hand in hand, only breaking their hold before sitting down in their respective seats. Taehyung sat besides Jungkook as Jess sat in front, and their hands naturally held onto each other. To any outsider it would have been a weird scene, seeing this girl hugging and crying over these two guys and in the end all of them holding hands over the table, but their relationship was quite a weird one indeed. They had been through thick and thin, and considered one another like family.

"You start," Taehyung said, smiling, as he tightened his grasp around her fingers.

"All of it? Just like that?" she said, overwhelmed.

The two men nodded and she took a deep breath, recollecting every little bit of information she could have shared in her mind and making a mental plan before going any further.

"Well, first of all, I wanted to apologize for not contacting you any sooner," she started, her soft gaze turning sorrowful. "When I left with that boyfriend at the time, too quickly and abruptly, I know, and without saying a word, it really was hard for me. My world was turned upside down and I was just too overwhelmed to keep in touch. He just... everything changed."
