Sat in a car, destination unknown, squished between two men who said nothing, Joslyn was fearful. From the inception, she was made to understand that the man who assaulted her when she left the bar to make her phone call was the one and only Michael Dawn or better known as Danny.
The woman was scared shitless but there wasn't much she could've done about the situation. They caught her off guard, leaving me powerless much to her discontent, she needed to be humble.
"What did I do to you to make you come after me like this?" She asked after the car went silent except for the radio playing away softly in the background. It took a while for him to respond but Danny subsequently laughed, turning to face the blonde while he rode shotgun. He wasn't a bad looking guy but certainly wasn't what Joslyn would want for herself or anyone, including Amberle. One could tell that he was rough around the edges, his face had a few scars.
"It's funny you know, that you still don't remember who I am." He replied and she grimaced.
"What do you mean, I've never met you before until now."
"Or so it seems," he replied and the judge tried her best to reminisce, let her thoughts wander off in hopes that she'd remember this man but she couldn't.
"Let me refresh your noggin, your honour. Ten years ago, you represented me on trial, I was wrongfully accused of raping a young girl who was perhaps fifteen at the time," Stated Danny and the woman did her best but she just couldn't remember him.
"I can't remember," she admitted and he clicked his tongue.
"To be honest the whole truth was that you didn't represent me, but you had a rooky you were mentoring at that time do it and it cost me six fucking years," Danny replied and Joslyn frowned, finally it came back to her.
"Isn't it amazing though how life works in full circles, making sure that our paths cross again?"
"You did rape that girl in actuality and it's why you were sentenced to prison. You're lucky that it was only six years."
"You're a funny woman, your honour, I see now why Amber's so attached to you," Danny stated and soon the car pulled to a stop in a dark alley. He didn't bother turning to face her but chose to speak while staring straight ahead.
"What's so special about her?" He questioned and the woman frowned.
"What's so special about her, is it the way she makes love to you like you're her first, or is it that feral-like spirit of hers?"
"I don't know, why does it matter?"
"Because the same thing that draws you in is going to be the very thing that destroys you. Amberle's a special one, trust me I know, I created her but she's not worth losing everything for."
"Is that what you think?"
"It's what I know and not only that but she's mine. Mine to keep and mine to use as I see fit and honestly I loathe sharing, I always get violent when people expect me to share."
"So in your eyes, she's just another item to use, something that belongs only to you?"
"That bitch owes me a lot of money, so much money you can't even begin to comprehend and I own her ass until she pays every fucking dime back."
"I thought she paid you already," Joslyn seethed and the audacity of the fucker but her anger was nothing but humour for the men because they all men laughed.
"Why yes, a fraction of it," Danny chimed.
"I know all this may come as a shock too you, but she's a liar. She lies to everyone she meets and that includes you, it's what she's been taught. You're no exception even though she acts all caring, it's just a facade, Judge."
"How do you know that, did she tell you?" The woman wasn't backing down, she was too deep in her feelings to see any wrong in the girl since they both became so vulnerable with each other. She ignored all the bad things.
"Because I trained her, Lyn. I taught her everything she knows that's why. The little bitch is good and it's why I want her back."
