Chapter 20- Cutie

Chae's PoV

I was currently talking with Nick about the upcoming periodical exam when I notice that Jade is here. Right on time, Nick was called by his bestfriend and said good bye to me. Since I have nothing to do, I should talk to her. I made my way to her seat and as soon as I reach her, I greeted her

"Good Morning Jade" I said happily
"Good Morning" she replied with a small smile then she continued what she's doing a while ago
"What are you doing?" I asked, confused
"Getting ready for the day" she answered then she look at me as soon as she's done "Why?"
"Nothing. Just curious"

She just nod at me with a smile

Jade's hair antenna caught my eye and somehow I want to pat it. Without hesitation, I pat it

She flinched a bit while her eyes grew a bit bigger and I notice that her ears becomes red

I swear her reaction just now is so cute!!

"Why are you so cute?" I asked, unconsciously, which made me curse in my head

I was about to explain what just happened when she avert her gaze and murmured, "I'm not cute.."

Somehow, it made me smile and that smile turns into a giggle

"Well I think you are" I said with a genuine smile

I was expecting that she will be shy afterwards but she just laugh

"Should I take it as joke?" she asked

Confused to why she said that, I shrugged it off and answered, "Take it as a compliment"

I poke her right cheeks lightly and said, "Cutie" before I went to my designated seat as the bell rang

--Morning Class Ends & Lunch Time--

I fix my things quickly because I kinda want to for some unknown reason. As soon as I'm done fixing my things, I called out to Jade, who is putting her things inside her bag, then I back hugged her

"I c-can't breath" she said

I just apologized and released her even though I'm confused to why she said that even though I just hugged her lightly. My mind then told me to hold her hand

Hesitating at first but I pulled her hand and intertwined it with mine then we start to walk fastly

"Hey slow down" Sun says while catching up with us
"Are you in a hurry?" Ching ask while panting
"Jade is hungry, so yeah" I lied

I caught Jade looking surprised so I winked at her and continued to walk fastly

"Yah! You two!!" both of them shouted while catching up with us

I just laugh and increase the speed more

"Walk faster!" I teased

The two girls glared at me which made me laugh at their faces

--Tea House--

We arrived at the tea house, panting

"Curse you" Sun says while catching her breath

I gave her my cheeky grin which she glared at me as a response

Meanwhile, Ching checked Jade if she's alright which somehow made me smirk a bit

Is she really worried or is it because...

"If something bad happens to Jade, I'll kill you" Ching says as she still check Jade

I just smirk at her way because I know that she had been throwing jealous daggers at our intertwined hands a while ago

When they think that Jade is fine, we went inside the tea house and greeted everyone

As we sit infront of the table, I  stared at Jade and somehow, she looks at my direction and made an eye contact

My heart fluttered when she smiled at me and the reason why I looked the other way

I had another eye contact with her while sipping my tea and this time, I smiled at her which made her look away
