Lyra was sitting on the counter in her kitchen, watching her husband Nick Blue making her lunch.
"You know, usually the wives cook for their husbands," Nick informed Lyra jokingly. "Don't you think this is a bit mixed up?"
"You know I can't cook," Lyra said. She always found that ambrrassing, but you couldn't really blame her; Walburga Black never taught her daughter to do anything important. "Remember that time I burned water?"
"I didn't even think that was possible," Nick chuckled. "Now, Mrs. Blue." Lyra once again felt a thrill of hearing him say that. "You can be the first ever to taste the famous Nick Blue's lasagna!"
"You made lasagna for those orphan kids last week," Lyra grinned. "I highly doubt that I'm the first."
"You're the first person I actually know who has tasted my lasagna," Nick corrected himself. He held out a plate with two large squares of lasagna. "Try it."
"Those are huge!" Lyra said, taking a fork out of the cabinet and staring at the two large peices of lasagna. "You're going to make me fat."
"I'll love you either way," Nick said uncaringly. "Try it." he repeated.
Lyra rolled her eyes at Nick's repeated demand and tried his lasagna. It was good, like all of his cooking, but lasagna wasn't one of Lyra's favorites.
"WHat's wrong,you don't like it?" Nick said.
"I do," Lyra said truthfully. "I'm just not a fan of lasagna."
"You should have told me that before I made it!"
"You looked so concentrated, though," Lyra smiled, hopping off the counter with the plate in her hand. "I couldn't say I wouldn't enjoy it. ANd besides, You like lasagna - you can eat it."
Nick rolled his eyes. "I would rather eat the same food as you."
"I'll eat the lasagna," Lyra said. "I said I liked it."
"Then what did you make that face for?"
"I don't know."
Nick shook his head at his wife and turned to surve himself. Lyra was about to take a bite out of the lasagna again when there was a knock on the door.
Nick picked up his wand from the counter emmidiatly and gestured for Lyra to do the same. They approached the door caotiously and Lyra shouted; "State your full name and your bussiness here!"
"James Potter," said James' voice through the door. "I have come to inform Lyra Blue about a Death Eater attack my good friend, Sirius Black, and I have encountered while on a motorcycle chase with the muggle cops!"
"And I am Sirius Black!" said Sirius' arrogant voice. "I have come to inform Lyra Blue about a Death Eater attack my idiot friend, James Potter-"
Lyra was laughing as she opened the door to reveal her brother and one of her best friends.
"A motorcycle chase with the muggle cops?" Nick said, sounding amused.
"Laugh all you want," James said. "But you should have seen the cops' face when we levitated their car to make the Death Eater's crash into it with their brooms."
"Very unprofessional flyers," Sirius added.
"They should be ashamed," James said seriously.
"Wait, you levitated the muggle cop car?" Lyra said, staring at the two. "And I'm guessing you didn't wipe the muggles' memory clean?"
"No," James said. "Where's the fun in that?"
"Yeah," Sirius nodded. "How are we supposed to make a dramatic exit if they won't even know why we were there inthe first place?"
"You two are idiots," Lyra said, though she was smiling. "I'm guessing you haven't told Lily?"
"Are you kidding?" Sirius said. "She'll have our heads!"
"She'll chew us out, too," James said. "She'll say we're irrisponsable and what not."
"Maybe becuase you are." Lyra said.
"Well, your one to talk," Sirius scoffed at his twin. "What about that time you made that muggle shop owner's head grow twice as big because she said that your 'dirty boots from the dump' were leaving leaving foot prints all over her newly done rug?"
"She made fun of my boots," Lyra shrugged. "No one does that and gets away with it."
"Did you tell Lily about it?" James quirked an eyebrow.
"Are you kidding?" Lyra said. "She'll have my head!"
"Exactly our reason for not tlling her about this," Sirius smirked. "Now can we tell you the story or are you just going to stand there?"
"Come in," Lyra sighed. "Nick just made lasagna."
"Great, I love lasagna," James said excitedly. He strode into the kitchen before anyone else.
"I hate lasagna," Sirius grumbled, walking into the kitchen after him.
"You and your brother are very odd," Nickinformed Lyra, closing the door before walking with her to the kitchen, where the boys were helping themselves. "How could you not like lasagna."
"How can you not not like lasagna?" Lyra said, using a double negative in a way to confuse him.
"What?" Nick said, confused.
"Victory," Lyra said, triumphantly.
Nick rolled his eyes and sat down with the others. While they ate, Sirius and James told Lyra and Nickthe story of the Motorcycle chase.
"So that means Death Eaters are patroling that area," Nick said, looking thoughtful. "We should look around there with the others."
"When?" James asked.
"Maybe tomorrow night," Nick said.
Sirius looked excited and he took a bight out of the lasagna before spitting it out. "Aurgh! I loathe you lasagna!"
