"And don't start anymore fights," Lyra continued with her long speech. "And don't even think about helping Peeves with anything or I will personally send a Howler that will embarrass you so much."

"Alright, alright, Mum," Lynx said, raising her hands in a shushing gesture, the kids nearby were starting to snigger. "Jeez, your embarrassing me now."

"I know, and it's fun," Lyra said with an evil grin. "And I forgot to tell you. I won't be able to see you Chritmas Break."

"Why?" Will said, done laughing at Lyra's Lecture to Lynx. "It's not like you actually work at Zonko's, you just make the products."

"I have bussiness to take care of with someone," Lyra said.

"About what?" Lynx narrowed her eyes at her mother.

"Nothing to worry your minds about," Lyra said, giving her daughter a pat on the head. "Now go on the train, I have to say bye to Remus, too."

"You told him to favor us, right?" Lynx asked hopefully. "You know, since he's practically our uncle."

"Of course not," Lyra lied easily. "You have to work for your good grades - I'm not going to tell him to give you an O you didn't deserve."

Lynx pouted. "That's not fair."

"Yes, it is," Will said simply, he gave his Mum a kiss on the cheeck. "I'll see you Easter Holidays then. Bye Mum!"

Lynx and Will both left to go find their friends. Lyra sighed as she watched them leave, feeling the familiar loneliness.

"You're not going to start crying, are you?" Remus whispered in her ear. "Because I think it'll create a scene."

Lyra rolled her eyes that - she was ashamed to admit - did feel a little leaky. Lyra turned to Remus, who looked so tired from his last new moonthat she felt a pang of sympathy. He didn't let her transform into a cat with him because he feared he would attack her and there was no James or Sirius to save her.

LYra missed turning into her cat animagus, and every new moon she would sulk and stamp her foot because Remus always said no every time she asked.

"What will create a scene is a professor riding the train," Lyra said accusingly. "Why don't you just use to Floo Network? I'm sure Dumbledore would let you if you are too lazy to apparate to Hogsmeade and walk the short distance to Hogwarts."

"It was Dumbledore who suggested that I take the train," Remus said. "He said he fears the Dementors might search the train and he wants someone who can produce a patronus charm to ward them away from the students."

"Aurgh," Lyra wrinkled her nose. "I cannot believe Dumbledore is allowing those monsters to go to Hogwarts. That's a place for fun, not misery."

"I don't think he had much of a choice, Lyra," Remus said. "The Ministry has more power then him. And besides, wouldn't you want your kids safe from Black?"

Lyra bit her lip. "Well of course I do. But I also want them safe from those Dementors. Promise me they won't go near Will and Lynx, Remus. Promise me you'll protect them."

"I promise, Lyra," Remus gave Lyra a hug. "I have to get on the train."

"And cause a scene," Lyra smirked.

"I'll most likely be sleeping," Remus said, and that was when Lyra noticed the dark bags under his eyes. "I had a rough night."

"Make sure you take that Wolfsbane thing-y," Lyra said sharply. "It'll help you."

"Are you going to do another one of those 'Lyra Lectures' on me too?" Remus asked.

"Well if you want me to-"

"I have to get on the train. Bye."

Lyra laughed as he walked away with his suitcase in his hands. She felt as though she were sending Remus off to school along with her kids, it felt odd but really amusing. With a peaceful sigh, she thought of her warm bed at home and she apparated away.
