Lynx had expect Cormac to be there, but she hadn't expected him to look so... handsome.

She wiped her expression clean and smiled at him coyly when he approached her. He looked at her with the same expression she wore, though his blue eyes were a bit dazed.

"Well, I guess I should have expected you to wear something this..." Cormac gestured to her dress and said, "Beautiful."

Lynx was caught off gaurd. She never liked the color yellow; to her, it was too yucky and happy - but everyone seemed to be thinking differantly.

Beautiful, gorgous, cute, pretty. Why couldn't they just do the reaction Lynx had been expecting? Screaming and covering their eyes as though they had been staring straight at the sun. She was a bit dissapointed - she wanted everyone to be appalled by her behavior, telling her off and all that - but no one did that anymore.

Poor little tragic girl, they must be thinking, her brother's face destroyed and her uncle dead. Let's give her sympathy.

Lynx missed all the telling offs she had when she did a prank, but everyone avoided giving her a stern talking to now - even Lyra. She had thought that dressing up horribly at Fluer's wedding would blow the top, but even Fluer had said she looked pretty.

Lynx was starting to wonder if they actually thought it was true. But they couldn't. She had looked in the mirror and had cringed, she had looked at her mother and felt awe. Her mother had said that yellow didn't go with their skin tone, but the yellow had made Lyra's skin milky white and creamy, instead of peaky.

"Are you alright, Lynx?" Cormac asked, wrapping his arms around her waist. "You look as though you're about to feint."

"Must be the heat," Lynx lied, fanning her face for emphasis. "Is it time for them to say the vows yet?"

Cormac looked around. "Yeah, I think it is. Come on, let's go get our seats."

Lynx let Cormac lead her to the seats in the third row and she sat down next to him. His hand was in hers, both of them leaning against the armrests.

Lynx didn't pay much attention to what was going on around her. She was too busy swivelling around in her seat, searching for Lyra and Estelle - but they were no where to be seen.

Will, who was sitting two seats down from her, was doing the exact same thing.

"What is it?" Cormac siad quietly. "Who are you looking for?"

"My Mum," Lynx said.

"Oh," Cormac frowned. "I don't think she likes me."

"She doesn't," Lynx said.

"You may now kiss the bride," the sing song voice of the priest said.

There was a small giggle and Lynx turned to see Fluer and Bill kissing each other rather fiercely, as though it would be the last kiss they would share. A cold feeling spilled down Lynx's spine at this thought.

There was a sob and Mrs. Wealsey and Mrs. Delecour jumped up from their seats and they rushed forward, hugging the newly weds, not looking as though they were planning on letting go any time soon.

"Do you want to go congratulate them?" Cormac asked pleasently.

"No," Lynx said. "Not yet. I have to go, alright - I have to find my Mum and Estelle."

"That veela girl?" Cormac said, confused. Lynx had never liked her as far as he was concerned.

"Yes," Lynx said, not giving further explanation as she tore her way through the tent.

Cormac watched her leave, apprehensive. He felt a hand being placed on his arm and turned to see a blonde girl who looked to be Lynx's age. She fluttered her eyelashes and smiled at him sweetly.

"The music is starting," she said, her voice was beautiful. "Would you care to dance?"

"Ugh," Cormac's mouth was hanging open, and he felt as though his head was being filled with fog. All he could think about was how beautiful this girl was. "Sure..."

The blonde girl smiled and dragged him to the dance floor, where many other couples were circling around slowly. Cormac noticed how perfectly the girl's gold dress flowed behind her, making her steps look very graceful.

By the time they found a space for them to dance, Cormac didn't have any thought at all.

*~*

Lynx had given up trying to find her mother and Estelle. And, truth be told, she felt a bit guilty for ditching Cormac in a crowd of people he didn't even know.

So that's when her search for Cormac began. It wasn't difficult, he was very tall - and the girl he was dancing with was very beautiful.

It was Gabrielle, Fluer's little sister, and she was shedding her veela magic all over the guys around her. Their heads turned when her and Cormac danced by, some of them loosening their hold on their girlfriends in the process.

The girls were obviously annoyed, but none as much as Lynx.

Cormac was holding Gabrielle dangerously close, his arms wrapped around her thin waist, and she had her hands locked around his neck. And their faces were close - too close for Lynx's liking.

Lynx tossed her black hair over her shoulder and tutted loudly. She knew all too well that Cormac had no control, so she couldn't be mad at him, but she could be mad at Gabrielle.

Lynx made her way over to the dancing duo and tapped Gabrielle on the shoulder, a bit rouply because the girl winced and glared at Lynx in obvious irritation. Cormac didn't even seem to notice.

"What, Lynx?" Gabrielle sighed.

"May I cut in?" Lynx said pleasently.

"No," Cormac answered, tightening his grip on Gabrielle and drawing her closer. His face was dazed. "We're dancing already."

"Cormac, you complete idiot," Lynx said, grabbing his wrist and yanking him away from Gabrielle, who pouted. "It's veela spell."

Cormac blinked slowly, less dazed but still confused.

"Be fun, Lynx," Gabrielle sighed. "It's just dancing."

"That almost led to snogging," Lynx snapped. "Now go find someone else."

"Fine," Gabrielle frowned. "Fun sponge."

Lynx blinked. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means you suck the fun out of everything," Gabrielle said, tossing her brilliant silvery blonde hair over her shoulder.

"Don't you mean fun vacuum then?" Lynx said. "That would make much more sense."

Gabrielle rolled her pretty blue eyes and flounced away, still radiating her unbelieveable veela beauty. Lynx sighed in exasperation and turned to Cormac, who looked back to his normal self.

"What was that?" he said confusedly.

"Just a disturbance," Lynx shrugged. "But we were dancing."

"Oh," Cormac looked pleased with this. "Why did we stop?"

"No idea," Lynx wrapped her arms around his neck. "Let's continue."
