"Jack Edwin Lemming," Aiden said with his brows knitted together.

I pushed through the students in the hallway as I nodded, "My uncle's name, which just so happens to be the name of his publishing company."

"JEL," Aiden said with a smirk, "What cool initials."

I rolled my eyes and fluffed my blonde curls, "So after school we'll go see him," I said, ignoring the nerds scattering to get out of my way.

Aiden glanced down at me, and I shrugged my shoulders, "What?"

"You promised," he said softly.

I nodded, mocking his words as he quickly walked away from my side. I sighed, turning around to glance around at the student body. My eye caught a nerd holding a stack of papers, and my instinct drove me to their side.

I 'accidentally' shoulder checked their arm, turning around with a fake look of concern spead on my face. The nerd rumaged on the ground in an attempt to gather up all the fallen papers. I smirked, glancing around to find Aiden leaning against a locker down the hallway.

I sighed, hating the disappointed look in his eyes. I cursed under my breath and bent down to help the nerd. I scooped up a few papers and handed them to the student. He caught my eye, and they read of pure horror.

I gave him my best smile, "I'm sorry."

He raised an eyebrow as if waiting for the part where I'd laugh and kick him when he's down. I nodded and got to my feet, trying not to look at all the other students watching me. Every single one of their jaws were practically on the floor, and they looked at me like I had just done eight back flips.

I nodded as I passed by a group of jocks, and I put my head down as I raced down the rest of the hallway. I passed Aiden, ignoring him as he called out my name. I pushed through the halls until I found an empty one, and I leaned against the lockers with my arms crossed over my chest.

I heard Aiden sigh, and through blurry eyes I saw him lean against the wall beside me. He hesitated, "What you did was great."

I shook my head, breathing hard to prevent myself from sobbing, "Great? Now everyone thinks I'm a freak."

Aiden let out a chuckle, and I glared at him for being so crude. He shrugged, "No one thinks you're a freak because you helped somebody out."

"That isn't who I am," I snapped back.

He raised his hands in surrender, "Right, but maybe that's who you should be."

I glanced at a crowd of grade eleven's as they made their way down the hallway in which we were standing. I tried not to make eye contact with Liana at the front of the pack, but each jock stared at me with a confused look, however I still saw that look of lust in each of their eyes. I jumped back as Liana tripped over her feet, her bag tumbling to the floor with herself in tow. I stepped forwards and gathered Liana's bag, then reached out to grab her hand.

She stared at me, a look of rage filling her eyes. However the second she grabbed my hand they melted into a type of sorrow. Liana nodded, taking her bag from my hands. "Thanks," she said sharply and returned to leading her group down the corridor.

Now there were dozens of students flooding the hallway, and Aiden looked at me with wide eyes. I raised an eyebrow, about to ask him what his problem was when he dropped to the ground on his back.
