Five weeks later.

Five weeks to add onto my life. I no longer lived with Liana, yet I owed her everything for letting me stay with her for seven months. No, I didn't live with my mom and siblings.

I lived with Pria.

Her two bedroom apartment was just begging for another occupant, and after our family reunion I graciously moved in. I practically still lived with my mother, considering how many hours a day I spent there with my siblings. This way, I didn't miss a thing. I didn't miss my sister's birthday, nor did I miss summer vacation. Yes, it was July. Aiden and I were still joined at the hip, which, seemed to make my mother nervous. I knew she trusted him though, even if she didn't trust me. I laughed at that, if I was her I wouldn't trust me either.

"Coming?"

I spun around and dropped my book onto my mattress. I leaped over the bed and jumped on Aiden, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. He kissed me on the mouth and set me down, "That hurts more every single time you do it," he breathed.

I giggled, grabbing his hand and leading him out of the apartment and down the stairs. "Slow down!" Aiden chuckled, nearly toppling down the steps.

"Pria's waiting!" I said excitedly, racing down the streets of Brandon, Manitoba. We jogged until I found myself walking up the porch of my old house. I entered in through the door, my hand still clinging to Aiden's.

"Look who it is," Pria said with a wink as she peered over the couch.

I stuck my tongue out as Pamela jumped into my arms. I gave a grunt, kissing her cheek as Preston appeared from the stairs. He fist pounded Aiden and the two guys strode over to the living room. "Okay," my mother gasped as she entered the room. She dropped a tray of crackers onto the table and clasped her hands together. Her eyes seemed bloodshot, and for some reason her skin seemed to be drained of all colour.

I placed Pamela down, "Are you okay?" I asked her, my voice squeaking at the end.

My mom nodded, smiling as she turned to Aiden. "Aiden, do me a favour and take the kids upstairs? I'd like to talk to Pria and Peyton."

Aiden glanced at me with a raised eyebrow, but stood up as he gestured for the kids to follow. He scooped Pamela up and threw her over his shoulder as she giggled away. Preston eyed me curiously before he floated up the stairs after Aiden and Pamela. Once the sound of a door clicked shut, my mother let out a breath. "I have something I've been meaning to discuss with the two of you."

I shoved a cracker into my mouth, trying to swallowed the dry contents with the lack of saliva in my mouth. My mother sucked in another breath, "You girls have brought back so memories that I didn't want to relive again," she said with a slight smile, "But I'm glad you're both back, so I guess I'll deal with it. I know you're both still haunted by the fact of your father committing suicide. The reason for that is simply because he thought it was easier." She turned to me, "Peyton, many months ago, I didn't exactly know what you wanted, considering you had already known about the disease."

I glanced at Pria, finally swallowing the chewed pieces of cracker. I opened my mouth to speak when my mother intercepted me. "Peyton, ever since you left I have been thinking about what you wanted to know. I came to the conclusion, of course after thinking from the mind of a sixteen year old who had lost her father, and I decided you wanted to know what he wanted from you." She emphasized the 'he' and 'you' in that sentence. I nodded, running my hands on my jeans as I stared nervously at Pria. My mother swallowed and stepped towards me. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. I gasped at the sight of it, and I stared in disbelief as my mom placed it in my hand. "Take it," she whispered.
